Which is more meaningful, the tomb of Zeng Houyi or the tomb of Hai Faint Hou?
Generally speaking, a large number of cultural relics have been unearthed from the archaeological excavations of the tombs of Zeng Houyi and Hai Faint Hou, which is of unusual significance. They are exhibited as permanent exhibitions in Hubei Museum and Jiangxi Museum respectively. But I like Ceng Houyi better! First of all, we must know that so far, the number of tombs of princes in the Warring States period is far less than that of princes in the Western Han Dynasty. However, the vassals in the Warring States period had real power, while the vassal rights in the Western Han Dynasty had been declining. Then, no matter the tombs of the Warring States or the Western Han Dynasty, most of them can't escape the result that ten tombs are empty. Almost as long as it is a high-grade tomb that has not been stolen, it can "shock the archaeological community." Take a quick look at the tombs discovered during the Warring States Period: the tomb of Yan State was not found, the tomb of Qi State was not fully excavated in the Monument to the King of Zhao, and the tomb of Wei State Guwei Village was basically stolen during excavation. Only dozens of cultural relics were found in the excavation of Huzhuang tomb at the Han tomb level, and most of the tombs in Qin dynasty were not excavated. The only open tomb in Shenhe Plateau is almost empty, and the Chu tomb has not been officially excavated. Although the bronzes piled by Li Sangu have been rescued to the museum, after all, grave robbers only care about money, but where can they manage the information of unearthed cultural relics? Like the tombs of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, cultural relics were stolen from the country, and the excavation information was vague and strange. Now it's not clear what was unearthed in Jincun. Thanks to foreign grave robbers, there are more tombs of the Warring States period than those of Zhongshan, except Ceng Houyi. Because there is no connection between the storage room and the tomb, and it has not been discovered by grave robbers, the original cultural relics information in the tomb is similar to nothing. Therefore, the status of the tomb of Zeng Houyi is really too high. It is a great blessing for the archaeological community in China to have such a high-grade tomb that has preserved a lot of cultural relics and survived thousands of years of looting and modern scientific archaeological excavation. for reference only
