Why is the sister of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty called Princess Xinyang? What does Xinyang mean?
Emperor Wu's sister named princess royal Yangxin, not Xinyang. In the Han dynasty, the princess was usually called by the location of her food city or her husband's fief, while Princess Pingyang's food city was Yangxin, so it was called Princess Yangxin. Because she married Cao Can's great-grandson Pingyang Hou Cao Shou (also known as Cao Shi), she is also known as Princess Pingyang.
