Administrative divisions of Xishan District

In 1953, the city and county were merged to form the eighth and ninth districts of Kunming City.

From July 1953 to September 1956, the Eighth District of Kunming City governed: Tuanjie Township, Haiyuansi Township, Lianjia Township, Shalang Township, Liangyuan Township, Taoyuan Township, Longqing Township, Factory There are ***10 townships in Kou Township, Zhiliu Township, and Wagong Township; the ninth district governs: Jishan Township, Majie Township, Biji Township, Fenghua Township, Minglang Township, Qitai Township, Longtan Township, Yongjing Township, There are 12 townships including Yuhua Township, Luze Township, Gulu Township and Lemu Township. From January 1954 to September 1956, the Tenth District of Kunming City governed 6 townships: Baiyu Township, Heping Township, Liren Township, Zhongbao Township, Zhongping Township, and Shuangshao Township.

At the end of October 1956, Xishan District was established, with jurisdiction over 22 townships in the original eighth and ninth districts of Kunming City; the tenth district was renamed Haikou District.

In October 1958, three people's communes, Dongfeng, Tuanjie and Shangyou, were established, located in Liangjiahe, Longtan and Changkou respectively. The original 22 small townships and the two townships of Jinhua and Honglian that were included in Wuhua District were changed into management areas. The government has jurisdiction over 24 management areas and 3 sub-district offices.

In May 1960, the scale of communes and teams was adjusted, and Xishan District was transformed into seven people's communes: Dongfeng, Hailian, Biji, Tuanjie, Gulu, Shangyou and Shalang. The communes are located in Liangjiahe, Longyuan Village, Gaoyao, Longtan, Lu Bozu, Changkou and Shalang.

In 1960, it was the Haixing People's Commune of Anning County. In 1959, it was restructured into the Haikou State-owned Farm of Kunming City. In April 1961, it was placed under the Xishan District and changed to the Haikou People's Commune, located in Zhongxin Street.

In January 1963, Xishan District divided 8 people's communes into 21 people's communes.

In 1984, the commune was converted into an office.

In February 1988, the township system was reformed, the offices were restructured into townships, and Dongfeng and Hailian were renamed as Majie and Heilinpu. Majie Town, Heilinpu Town, Biji Town, and Haikou Town were established; Unite Yi and Bai Township, Gulu Yi and Bai Township, Shalang Bai Township, and Changkou Township were renamed as offices. In 1992, the district governed 4 towns, 4 townships, 1 sub-district office, 62 rural offices, 454 natural villages, 380 villagers' committees, 568 production cooperatives, and 13 urban residents' committees.

In 2000, Xishan District governed 1 street, 4 towns, and 4 townships.

On June 20, 2003, Majie Town and Heilinpu Town were officially withdrawn from the towns and established sub-districts.

On June 3, 2004, the State Council approved the adjustment of the administrative divisions of Kunming's municipal districts: the adjustment of the administrative divisions of Wuhua District, Panlong District, Guandu District and Xishan District of Kunming City.

On January 1, 2005, the four main urban districts of Kunming officially exercised their administrative, economic and social affairs management authority in accordance with the new divisions.

In 2006, Tuanjie Yi and Bai Township and Gulu Yi and Bai Township were abolished and Tuanjie Town was established. The town government is located in the original Tuanjie Yi and Bai Township government residence.

On July 31, 2009, Biji Town, Haikou Town, and Tuanjie Town were abolished, and Biji, Haikou, and Tuanjie Subdistrict Offices were established. Xishan District has a subtropical semi-humid monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 14.9°C, an extreme maximum temperature of 31.5°C, and an extreme minimum temperature of -7.8°C. The annual average precipitation is about 1000.5mm, the maximum monthly rainfall is 208.3mm, and the maximum daily rainfall is 153.3mm. The rainfall is mainly concentrated from May to September. The annual sunshine hours are 2327.5 hours, and the annual evaporation is 1856.4mm. The maximum wind speed is 40m/s, mostly southwesterly. Relative humidity 76%. Xishan District has a subtropical semi-humid monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of about 15°C and an average annual precipitation of 900-1200 mm. The climate is spring-like all year round and the climate is pleasant. The vast mountainous area is rich in biological resources and water conservancy resources.
