Chiyou is the ancestor of Miao and other ethnic minorities.
Chiyou, the leader of the ancient Jiuli tribe in China mythology, was brave and good at fighting, and was regarded as the god of war. According to legend, Chiyou, with a face like a bull's head and wings on his back, is the leader of the totem clan of cattle and birds. He has eighty-one brothers, all of whom are bronze heads, eight arms and nine toes, and all of whom have extraordinary skills. About five thousand years ago, Chiyou tribe and Yanhuang tribe fought a battle of Zhuolu, and Chiyou died. Most of his tribes were integrated into the Yanhuang tribe, forming the Huaxia nationality, while some tribes that were not integrated into the Yanhuang Group formed the earliest subjects of Miao and other ethnic minorities.
In ancient times, Chiyou led the Jiuli clan to develop agriculture, smelt copper and iron, trained the Wuchang, created a hundred artists, inspired the future and made outstanding contributions to the formation of early Chinese civilization. The border area between Henan, Shandong and Hebei is called "the capital of nine miles". In Zhuolu County, Hebei Province, there are relics such as Chiyou Tomb, Huangdi Spring (Hanquan), Chiyou Sanzhai, Chiyou Spring, Bagua Village, Dingchetai, Chiyou Blood-stained Mountain, Tatu, Shangxiaqiqi and Qiao Shan.
There are always different opinions about the origin of Yi.
According to the genealogy of Yi people in Yichun, Yi people have changed their surnames for more than 2300 years. Since Shang Gong, the ancestor who changed his surname, was listed as the first generation, it has spread to 8 1 generation, including 3 1 generation of Gong Yan, the ancestor of cranes.
Due to the overlapping dynasties, incomplete genealogy, and thousands of miles away, the transportation is inconvenient, and the sages could not find out the true feelings. The origin, migration process, generation and genealogy of the Yi people are different.
(1) The surname is Yi Zui, an imperial clan of Shang Dynasty. Shang and Zhou dynasties lost their virtue, killed their father, and frightened their younger brother. They sacrificed their boats and fled to the desert. Ancestors are worried about their own disasters, so as not to farm in the western mainland. Today, Pinglu County lives in Pingyang Prefecture, Shanxi Province, and the king of Wu cut the imperial clan and sealed the Shang family. The ancestors changed their names, fished in Yishui, thought they were family members, and were buried in Taiyuan, where their descendants lived, and moved to Changsha (bearing the surname of Wuchuan Yi people).

(4) The origin of Yi people is based on land. According to Records of the Historian Yin Benji, there is a Yi tribe in Yishui Valley of Hebei Province.
