The water quality of Beihai Sea in Guangxi is seriously polluted. Drinking water safety faces greater environmental risks. First, there are serious hidden dangers in the protection of drinking water sources. First, groundwater overexploitation is serious. At present, our city's water supply is only from a single underground water source and there is no backup water source. Second, the water quality of some water sources has declined. For example, the groundwater source of Longtan Village has been affected by intensive high-level farming and seawater intrusion. Chloride, ammonia nitrogen, beryllium, mercury, and radioactive alpha have exceeded standards, and the pollution level has reached 39.1% (lower than Category IV). The water source of Hetang Water Plant was affected by garbage dumps and other factors. Ammonia nitrogen, beryllium, mercury, total alpha radioactivity, etc. exceeded the standards, and the contaminated area reached 73.9% (below Category IV). Third, the water quality of Niuweiling Reservoir cannot stably meet the standards.
