The relationship between the orientation of windows and Feng Shui
In home Feng Shui, opening windows in different orientations has different meanings and plays different roles. The sun rises from the east, heralding the beginning of new life, giving birth to hope and vitality. Therefore, most homes will choose east-facing windows, which can make the house full of yang energy and imply good luck.
North-facing windows are not good for the health of the residents, because the north belongs to Yin water in the five elements of Feng Shui. Opening windows facing north can easily allow bad air to enter. If the corner of the house, orange trees, electric poles, wires, sharp stones, antennas and other things are visible from the south-facing windows, it will also be detrimental to the health of the people in the house. If the large windows in the living room and bedroom face unlucky things, it will also have a negative impact on the family's health and economic income.
It is more suitable to face the southeast, so that the house will be warm in winter and cool in summer, which is good for health. However, from the perspective of Feng Shui, you must first clearly see the scenery far and near outside the large window. If the scenery is ominous and has evil spirits, it is not appropriate for the large window to face the southeast. If the view from the large windows of a house is blocked by neighboring houses, and the people living inside do not have a wide view, this arrangement is also very inappropriate, because vitality and wealth are blocked.
It is rare to have floor-to-ceiling windows in the northeast, but windows in the southwest are very common. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the southwest are best converted into walls. If it is really difficult to do, you should fix the glass on the window and plant low trees on the outside of the glass to prepare for emergencies.
The floor-to-ceiling windows in the southwest can also be covered with wooden window covers, but this does not look beautiful, and affects the lighting, darkening the indoor light, and the effect is not ideal. Compared with the two, it is more practical to fix the glass window.
The poor orientation of the windows is not unchangeable and can be modified with the help of modern decoration methods to meet the requirements of Feng Shui to protect the house. If there are floor-to-ceiling windows and they are located on the northeast or southwest diagonal, the house is prone to theft, so it is best to relocate the windows. If there is a floor-to-ceiling window in the kitchen, a safe and secure way to renovate it that meets Feng Shui requirements is to directly remove it, build a new wall and paint it, and open another door and window.
Changing the orientation of windows in the home
It is not suitable to set up windows in the direction of the ghost gate. The so-called ghost gate orientation refers to the two directions of Kungen, namely southwest and northeast. The southwest is called the outer ghost gate, and the northeast is called the inner ghost gate. When it is said that windows should not be installed in these two directions, it refers to normal ventilation windows and floor-to-ceiling windows, but skylights, floor windows, and wall windows are not included. If there are floor-to-ceiling doors and windows from the ceiling to the ground, if they are located on the northeast or southwest ghost door line, it will be prone to being stolen. Among a large number of private houses, there was only one house that was frequently visited by Mr. Liang Shang, so most of the doors and windows of this house were set on the ghost gate line. If there is an opening on the ghost gate line, it should be sealed. If it is a back door or kitchen door, it should be removed and a wall built with new doors and windows.
Generally, there are fewer floor-to-ceiling doors and windows in the northeast, but floor-to-ceiling doors in the southwest are more common. The floor-to-ceiling doors and windows on the ghost door line should be changed to walls. If it is really difficult to do, the glass on the doors and windows should also be fixed. Then, plant low trees on the outside of the glass to make it safer. Doors and windows on the ghost door line can also be covered with wooden window covers. However, it will look very unsightly and the interior will become dark, which is still not ideal. Therefore, the only way to fix the glass window is feasible.
In terms of residential Feng Shui, there is a misconception that openings are evil places. In fact, this is not the case. For large residences, it is best not to have openings on the ghost door line; but for houses under 70 square meters, in order to enhance air circulation and lighting, there is no need to block the ghost door line at all.
In this case, you might as well change the opening into a wall window. If you feel unsafe, you can change it into a high window to increase the flow of "qi". The so-called openings here are limited to kitchen entrances, front doors, floor-to-ceiling windows, etc.
