"The Nirvana of Master Gou'er" Monologue by Master Gou'er
The wind blows, the rain blows, the thunder and lightning play. When the wind blows and the loess falls, and the ground is covered with gold, it must be a good year. There are two things that cannot be crossed, one is the land and the other is the wife. I just did it once and never came back. If you don’t come back, I’ll look for you. Not looking for a wife, but looking for land. With land, nothing can exist; without land, nothing can exist. Where to find it? Not the horizon, not the edge of the earth. Let me tell you - (mysteriously) Feng Shui Slope. There is an acorn tree on the slope, a cold water spring under the tree, and a kiln beside the spring. I can live alone. There is land there, and whatever you get is yours. It was cool there and there wasn't a single fly. You go? No. The village chief, Li Wanjiang, approved me alone and said he would treat me differently. Is it evil? I thought to myself, it’s because we have the ability and strength. It’s true, with this water jar and this pickaxe, I will be a man even if I go to the end of the world, and I will take root wherever there is soil.
