The climate in ancient Chang 'an was better and wetter than it is now. Rice can also be planted in the south of Huaihe River in southern Shaanxi, but we can't count on the food of the ancients. The emperors of the Han Dynasty may not have eaten better than people today. Moreover, at that time, the land area was not very large, and it took a long time for Jiangnan to really begin to develop and gradually become rich. The economic center gradually moved to the south, and it didn't develop until the south of the Tang Dynasty, and it didn't become an economic center until after the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. The Tang Dynasty was also the last dynasty to establish Chang 'an as its capital, and then Chang 'an was completely destroyed in the melee of the Five Dynasties and Ten Countries. No dynasty established Chang 'an as its capital.
