Midu Jiong Long Ta was built during the apocalypse of the Ming Dynasty. According to research, the Wenbi Pagoda was built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1573- 1620). Midu Wenbi Pagoda is a solid brick tower with hexagonal shape and eleven dense eaves, and its height is about15m, or about16m. All levels of eaves are short, with canine lace bricks, and the whole body is white and gray. The base is1.8m in height and1.5m in circumference. Inlaid with blue stones, the pagoda is composed of a treasure cover and a treasure bottle.

Long Ta in Midu, Dali is a feng shui tower, which is recorded in Wanli Zhaozhou Annals and Xu Xiake's Travels in Ming Dynasty. In the 12th year of Chongzhen in Ming Dynasty (1639), on August 19th, the famous traveler Xu Xiake set out from Hua Meng (now Weishan) and entered Midu via Qin Long Pass. There is a description in the Midu County Records of the Republic of China that "the city is like a boat, and the tower is built to carry it". Midu Wenbi Pagoda is the only existing Ming Dynasty building in Midu.
1979, Dali Midu Jiong Long Ta was announced as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units at the county level.
