Fortress originally developed from dock wall, which is a small castle built for defense. In the architectural history of China, the famous dock walls recorded are Xuchu Wall, White Dock and Heshui Dock. At the same time, according to the records in Volume 33 of the Book of the Later Han Dynasty, dock walls appeared as early as the Han Dynasty, and they were not confined to the Central Plains or Han areas.
It is recorded in Volume 33 of A Record of Ming Taizu that during the Yongle period, Judy of Ming Taizu ordered He Fu, the general of Ningxia, to carry out a new policy of guarding the border with a fortress to clear the field in Ningxia. Due to the long-standing existence of steamed buns in Ningxia, there are still many place names with steamed buns in Ningxia.
Star's fortress
There are many castles in Ningxia, and the most famous one is Zhenbei Castle. Zhenbeibao was built in Hongzhi period of Ming Dynasty and has a history of several hundred years. According to legend, the northern fort of this town was seen by Han Yu, a general of the Ming Dynasty. Because Zhenbeibao is located in the middle of Helan Mountains, a feng shui master said that this place will be in the future. Will there be emperors and princes? However, after so many years, there has been no prince here, but many big stars have appeared.
In fact, Zhenbeibao was destroyed by the earthquake in the18th century. Later, in order to consolidate the frontier defense, the Qing Dynasty built a new Zhenbei Fort near the former site. new castle was built in Qianlong for five years and has a history of nearly 300 years.
