The stone tablets of nine generals stand in the pine forest in the south of the city, and the inscriptions on each stone tablet are carved in Chinese and Manchu. Regrettably, these extremely precious cultural relics were vandalized in the turbulent years, leaving no trace.
However, it was not butterflies that ultimately destroyed Aihui's geomantic omen, but Russian invaders.
On August 3rd 1900, the invading Russian army attacked Aihui City from the south, north and east. Under the leadership of Fengxiang, commander of Aihui's deputy Dutong North Road United Front, Aihui soldiers and civilians wrote a magnificent chapter against Russia with their blood and lives. Finally, due to being outnumbered, the city fell. The Russian invaders burned this ancient city with a history of more than 200 years, and only one Kuixing brother survived.
