Anti-allergic effect

It can inhibit the delayed hypersensitivity induced by 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) in mice.

Anti-arrhythmia effect.

The water-soluble part can obviously shorten the duration of arrhythmia in rabbits and delay the occurrence of arrhythmia induced by aconitine in mice. This effect increased with the increase of dose, but it weakened when the dose increased to 12g/kg.

Anti-myocardial ischemia effect.

Its volatile oil can antagonize acute myocardial ischemia caused by pituitrin. In addition, the volatile oil of Notopterygium Rhizoma can significantly increase the nutritional blood flow of myocardium, thus improving myocardial ischemia.

Antishock effect.

It is effective to take small doses for many times, but large doses can not improve the anti-shock ability of animals.

Antithrombotic, antioxidant.

Taking notopterygium root can prevent thrombosis. Has anti-lipid peroxidation effect.

Other functions.

Notopterygium root also has antiepileptic effect; It also has certain inhibitory effect on cervical cells.

pharmacological action

(1) antipyretic and analgesic.

Its volatile oil can obviously reduce the body temperature of experimental fever rats and has obvious analgesic effect. The water extract of Notopterygium Shi Sheng decoction has obvious antipyretic and analgesic effects on fever in rabbits.

(2) Anti-inflammatory.

Its volatile oil can obviously inhibit the swelling of paw of rats and auricle of mice by gavage, and obviously reduce the capillary permeability of abdominal cavity and inflammatory exudation. Qianghuo Shi Sheng Decoction has a strong anti-inflammatory effect. Its water extract can obviously inhibit the capillary permeability of abdominal cavity, and obviously inhibit inflammatory reactions such as paw swelling in rats and auricle swelling in mice. It has obvious inhibitory effect on early joint swelling of adjuvant rats.

(3) immunity.

It has a significant inhibitory effect on delayed hypersensitivity; It can obviously enhance the immune function of rat arthritis model, promote the phagocytosis of whole blood leukocytes in rats and improve the transformation rate of peripheral blood lymphocytes.

(4) Anti-arrhythmia and protection of myocardial ischemia.

Its water extract can delay the occurrence of arrhythmia caused by aconitine in mice and obviously shorten the duration of arrhythmia. The volatile oil of Notopterygium root can antagonize acute myocardial ischemia caused by pituitrin. This may be the result of dilating coronary artery and increasing coronary blood flow. The volatile oil of Notopterygium incisum can obviously increase myocardial nutrient blood flow, thus improving myocardial ischemia.

(5) others.

Viscosity reduction: its water extract can obviously reduce the blood viscosity of rats.

Antibacterial: The volatile oil of Notopterygium incisum has different antibacterial effects on many bacteria in vitro.

Side effects of notopterygium root

(A) traditional literature

Theory of medicinal properties: nontoxic.

Modern research

Chemical composition: This product contains volatile oil, β-sitosterol, coumarin, phenolic compounds, carotene, parsley B, organic acids and alkaloids.

Pharmacological effects: Notopterygium injection has analgesic and antipyretic effects, and has inhibitory effects on skin fungi and Brucella. The water-soluble fraction of Notopterygium root has anti-experimental arrhythmia effect. The volatile oil also has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, which can resist myocardial ischemia caused by pituitrin and increase myocardial nutritional blood flow. It can inhibit delayed allergic reaction in mice.

(3) Toxicological test

LD50: The LD50 of Notopterygium Rhizoma volatile oil was 6.64g±0.87ml/kg.

Toxic reaction:

The maximum tolerance of water extract of Notopterygium incisum to mice was 40g (crude drug) /kg, and the maximum tolerance of intraperitoneal injection was L2.5g/kg.

The maximum tolerance dose of Qianghuo Shi Sheng Decoction to mice is 62.4g (crude drug) /kg, which is equivalent to 133 times of the clinical dosage.

In the long-term toxicity test of Notopterygium Shi Sheng Decoction, rats were given 46.80 g/kg, 23.40 g/kg and 2.34 g/kg by gavage (equivalent to 100, 50 and 5 times of clinical dosage). After 4 weeks of continuous administration and 2 weeks of drug withdrawal, there were no abnormal changes in growth and development, blood routine, liver and kidney function and important organs of rats in each dose group.

The above shows that Notopterygium Notopterygium and Notopterygium Notopterygium Shi Sheng Decoction have little toxicity and great safety.

(4) Clinical observation

Notopterygium root is nontoxic. There is no uncomfortable reaction after the conventional dose of water decoction. Long-term use or large dose (below 30g) decoction has no obvious side effects.

Decoct 30 grams of water each time. Generally, there is no obvious uncomfortable reaction to arthritis patients, and some patients have the reaction of getting angry and sweating. For patients with cold and fever, sweating can reduce fever, but it does not increase internal heat; For people who were originally suffering from excessive internal heat and spontaneous sweating due to physical weakness, if they were decocted with 12g water, there would be an increase in excessive internal heat and sweating. This is what Chinese medicine says: if you are sick, you will get sick. The truth that all diseases do not harm healthy qi.

The difference between notopterygium and angelica pubescens

Shennong's Herbal Classic records that "a Notopterygium can live alone". Compendium of Materia Medica records that "Radix Angelicae Pubescentis and Notopterygii Rhizoma are two kinds". Therefore, the two books only have the unique work, and there is no Notopterygium. Although there were notopterygium root and pubescent angelica root in the prescriptions of Jin and Yuan Dynasties, such as Notopterygium root and Gentiana macrophylla decoction, Chinese medicine still insisted that they were the same medicine. It may be because they belong to the same family and genus, and the herbaceous plants on the ground are very similar in morphology. However, Compendium of Materia Medica has recognized that the two drugs are different in appearance and smell, so they are different.

Notopterygium Notopterygium and Radix Angelicae Pubescentis are divided into two medicines from one medicine, which shows that the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine is constantly revised and deepened, and it is constantly developing. Although slow, the understanding attitude is rigorous and scientific.

After Radix Notopterygii and Radix Angelicae Pubescentis were divided into two medicines, there was a saying that Qiang was the only one. Is it only used below the waist? This is also a one-sided view.
