The origin of jiaxiu building

The origin of Jiaxiu Building is that during the Wanli period, Governor Jiang Dongzhi built a dike here to connect the two sides of the strait, and built the first floor to practice geomantic omen. At that time, it was called Jiaxiu, which means Ke Jiamei, and the name Jiaxiulou came into being. Jiaxiulou has been rebuilt five times since ancient times, and it has changed every time. Three of them were overhauls. It was the officials at that time who overthrew the style of Jiaxiulou set by the former officials according to their own understanding of architecture and personal preferences.

Jiaxiulou, located at No.8 Cuiwei Lane, Nanming District, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, is located on the Nanming River. Built in the 26th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. It is based on a boulder in the river and has been repaired many times in past dynasties. The existing buildings are the remains of the reconstruction of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty.

Jiaxiu building is divided into three floors, with white stone as the pillar and layers of collection. It is about 20 meters high from the bridge deck to the roof. Nanming River flows in front of the building and joins it to form Hanbitan. The side of the building is connected with both sides by a stone arch floating jade bridge. On the bridge, there is a small pavilion named Hanbitang, which is full of bright red tiles and has a pyramid-shaped roof with three floors, three eaves and four corners. Jiaxiulou is a witness of Guiyang's history and a symbol in the history of cultural development.
