Where is Xuanwu?
Xuanwu is in the north. Xuanwu, a god composed of turtles and snakes, is a god beast that guards the north, and is also known as the four god beasts with Qinglong, Baihu and Suzaku. Among the 28 lodging houses, Xuanwu consists of seven lodging houses: North, Cow, Female, Empty, Dangerous, House and Wall. Xuanwu is an important concept in traditional culture, which expresses an idea of advocating justice and safeguarding world peace. In ancient times, Xuanwu was generally regarded as a symbol of justice between heaven and earth, a kind of god beast to protect the earth, symbolizing "justice" and "righteousness", and its image was also used to protect the lintel of large palaces. Many ancient palaces and temple buildings will have basaltic statues in the south to show their respect.
