The newly purchased TP-LINK wireless router has two holes on the back that can be hung on nails. If you want to hang on nails, you need to open the holes first.

The components in the router are soldered directly to the circuit board. There are no connections through those two holes. I guess you inserted some other line card during installation. No problem, continue. Use it. If you are still not at ease, remove the screws at the bottom and use a thin, strong object to slowly pry around and open it. The box has bayonet openings.
