There is a "lonely" celebrity memorial hall in Xi'an. No one goes there for free, and the locals don't even know about it.

This is Xiaoyu’s travel diary, stop and go, and see Xi’an with me.

As an ancient capital with a history of 3,000 years as a city and 1,200 years as a capital, Xi'an has no shortage of cultural monuments. For foreign tourists, it is naturally impossible to fully explore Xi'an's cultural heritage in just a few days; and even old Xi'an residents may not be able to know all of it.

Every winter, I will think of a memorial hall located in the south of Xi'an.

The people it commemorates are well-known in China, but many people in Xi'an have never heard of this place. The memorial hall is free and open to visitors, with only a few ancient trees in the courtyard witnessing the long time...

This is the Du Gong Temple.

Du Gong Temple is the ancestral hall commemorating Du Fu, the great poet of the Tang Dynasty. As representatives of Chinese Tang poetry, the poet Du Fu and the poet Li Bai are two "peak" figures, known to all Chinese people.

Today, Du Fu Thatched Cottage in Chengdu is the most famous memorial hall about Du Fu in China, and it is still one of the most famous tourist attractions in Chengdu. In fact, Du Fu only lived in Chengdu for 4 years. He lived in Chang'an (Xi'an) for 13 years and left many cultural relics. Unfortunately, due to various reasons, Du Fu Thatched Cottage in Chengdu is well known to everyone, but Du Gong Temple in Xi'an is rarely known and lonely.

The Du Gong Temple in Xi'an was first built in the fifth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1526). Later generations built an ancestral temple on the Shaoling Plateau where he lived and lived for a long time to commemorate this greatest scholar in Chinese history. .

Over the past hundreds of years, Du Gong Temple has been built and destroyed several times. In the late Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Du Gong Temple was destroyed by fire; it was rebuilt here in the ninth year of Jiaqing (1804). The memorial hall we see today was rebuilt on the original site in 1960.

The Du Gong Temple is not large in area. Because it is closely adjacent to the Shaoling Plateau, several exhibition halls were built on the plateau, making it a relatively rare "cave dwelling memorial hall".

The memorial hall has a quiet environment, many steles and ancient trees. When we come here in winter, most of the trees have withered, but the three wintersweet trees are in bloom, and the whole courtyard is golden and fragrant. I mentioned earlier that I think of Du Gong Temple every winter, and it is precisely because of these three wintersweet trees.

The three wintersweet trees in Du Gong Temple are over 300 years old on average and are said to be the oldest wintersweet trees in Xi'an. Each wintersweet tree is more than 10 meters high, surrounded by more than a dozen small branches, and is very prosperous.

It has been sunny in Xi'an for a long time, but the snow has not disappeared in the Du Gong Temple. The cold has arrived, and it’s that time of year again to walk in the snow and look for plum blossoms. If you have the opportunity, it would be very satisfying to visit Du Gong and watch the golden rain in winter. What do you think?

Finally, let me talk about some practical tourism information. Friends who want to come can refer to:
