Yanshan fengshui

The Yanshan Mountains in the north of Beijing are located in the Yanshan seismic belt, and Beijing is in the transition zone between the Yanshan uplift belt and the subsidence area of the North China Plain. The northeast and nearly east-west faults meet, and the geological structure is complex. 1679 On September 2nd (July 28th, 18th year of Qing Emperor Kangxi), an earthquake of magnitude 8.0 occurred in Yanshan seismic belt in northern Hebei Province, China, also known as Sanhe-Pinggu earthquake. Its epicenter is located in Xiadian Town, Dachang County, Hebei Province, and the epicenter of the earthquake is only 40 kilometers away from Beijing.

Around 1000 a.d. to 1679 a.d., an earthquake of magnitude 8 occurred in Sanhe-Pinggu, and there were 7 earthquakes of magnitude 6 or above in this area. The two strong earthquakes were 1057 in the southern suburbs of Beijing and 1484 in Juyongguan. The nearest strong earthquake to the Sanhe-Pinggu earthquake area was the Tongxian earthquake with a magnitude of 6.75 on April 1665.
