The Origin of Shunzhi Temple

Hoonji, as its name implies, is a temple specially built to repay the kindness of others, and future generations will never forget it. There are different opinions about the origin of Hoonji. The old woman felt pity. In desperation, she hid the man in a water tank. Later, the pursuer came, and the old woman tried to hide it. The officers and men searched fruitlessly and had to leave in a rage.

Yi, a military commander who escaped the disaster, expressed deep gratitude to the old man for saving his life, and repeatedly said that he would repay him in the future and set off immediately. This man made many meritorious deeds in later wars, and Ming Chengzu promoted him to king. Looking back, how could there be today's prosperity without Zhang Wei's rescue? He came to Zhangjiakou to look for a savior. But it was too late, and the old man died, so he wanted to build a temple here to thank the old man named Zhang for saving his life.

At this time, a Lama was traveling here and happened to meet this thing. He told Wang Xing's officials that there is a "land of geomantic omen" in Shiqingdong. The two mountains here are like two dragons, and the Wuliang Mountain in the middle is like a pearl, which is a wonderful "double dragon playing pearl". So, the two went to seek advice from Shi Qing. After the introduction of the Lama, Wang officials saw this and immediately donated money to build it. Secondly, it is said that some members of the Wang Su family fled to Zhangjiakou after the rebels captured Lanzhou in the late Ming Dynasty, because they escaped death by hiding in an old man's house. However, the pursuers killed the old man. In order to repay Zhang for saving his life, the Su royal family changed Zhu's surname to Zhang's surname, and since then, he has escaped into Buddhism and traveled to Qinghai and Tianzhu. In the early Qing Dynasty, Shiqing Cave was chosen as hilly land, and this cave was built to repay the kindness of Zhang Ai who gave his life to save others.
