Wanshou Tower is a representative new heritage of the transportation network of the World Ocean Trade Center. It is a landmark building for merchant ships to arrive at Quanzhou Port, and it is also the spiritual sustenance for guarding Haikou and business travel. The legend of Wanshou Pagoda bears the historical memory of Quanzhou people on marine trade.

Liushengta is the navigation mark of the outer port of Quanzhou Bay, which mainly solves the navigation demand of merchant ships entering and leaving Quanzhou Port through the main channel of Daxiao Island. Wanshou Tower is a navigation mark outside Quanzhou Bay, which mainly meets the navigation needs of merchant ships entering and leaving Quanzhou Port through the main channel of Taiwan Province Strait. The two beacon towers echoed from afar, forming a unique and perfect ancient navigation system in Quanzhou Port.

As a beacon tower at sea, Wanshou Tower is also called? Gusao Tower? So far, there is a legend circulating in Quanzhou. In other words, the ancient stone lions were sparsely populated and had a hard time surviving. Many people venture across the ocean to make a living overseas in order to change their fate.

There was a young man who bid farewell to his newly married wife and young sister and crossed the ocean. Three years later, I must go back to my hometown to reunite with my relatives. In the past three years, the two brothers and sisters have climbed the Wanshou Tower every day, overlooking the sea and looking forward to the safe return of their loved ones.

In a blink of an eye, it was the agreed return time. On the way back to Quanzhou port by boat, the young people unfortunately encountered strong winds and waves, and the ship was wrecked and killed. The poor aunt still stood on the longevity tower, waiting day after day, and finally she fell ill and both passed away.

In order to commemorate this sad story, later generations called the Wanshou Tower? Gusao Tower? I hope this pagoda staring with my life can become a guiding tower for overseas travelers to return home. People engaged in navigation and business in Quanzhou also regard Wanshou Tower as a symbol of their hometown.

The prototype of this story is 14? It has been recorded in the surviving documents of15th century, which shows that it has a long history. This story has no happy ending, and there is no plot to get dressed and go home. It can be said to be a tragedy. Just like this, it truly reflects the heroic spirit of Quanzhou ancestors who dare to take risks and persevere, as well as the open and enterprising marine cultural personality.

Shishi city is high in the south and low in the north. The highest hilly land is this Baogai Mountain at an altitude of 209 meters. The hiking route we are taking now is built for the convenience of people. The environment here is quiet, facing the sea, and the situation is changing, becoming a famous landscape outside Quanzhou.

Shenhu bay is the only way for Quanzhou Port to go overseas. Ships departing from Jiangkou Wharf and Shihu Wharf leave Quanzhou Port, pass through Xiangzhi Port, Yongning Port, Shenhu Port and Weitou Port, and sail for the open sea.

The location of Wanshou Pagoda is quite different from the sea level. It goes out to sea from Quanzhou Bay and can be used as a navigation mark in the vast sea area of shenhu bay.

Wanshou Pagoda was built on Baogai Mountain by monks in Shaoxing during the Southern Song Dynasty (11-1162), which was the peak of Quanzhou's maritime trade. This period happened to be an important period for Quanzhou Port's overseas trade prosperity. The reality of overseas traffic needs to be perfectly combined with the superior geographical location of Wanshou Tower, making Wanshou Tower an offshore navigation mark of Quanzhou Port since its completion.

Baogai Mountain is the highest peak of Quanzhou Bay and the intersection of Quanzhou Bay and the open sea. Ancient geomantic omen thought that this was the Shuikou of Quanzhou, and building a tower here could lock the Shuikou to ensure safety, also known as locking the tower. Is it recorded here? Is it expected to be commercialized? ,? When merchant ships return from the sea, do they refer to the period of landing? The arrival of merchant ships in Quanzhou Port is a milestone.

Wanshou Tower is a five-story octagonal hollow pavilion tower built of granite, covering an area of 325 square meters and 22 meters high. As a hollow tube structure, the tower retracts upward step by step to increase structural stability. There are stairs on the tower wall to climb the tower. The hollow of the tower is an octagonal tower room. There is a circular corridor outside the first floor of the tower, and the west side is connected with a stone building with three rooms wide and two rooms deep. The corner columns on the outer wall of the tower are all carved into the shape of melon edges, and the column body is supported by large barrels. The third to fifth floors are provided with horizontal seats, cross bars and staggered doors one by one, and the inner walls of the first to fourth floors opposite to the door openings are provided with shallow niches for statues.

The edge line of the plane octagon is gentle and tortuous, and the vertical pressure on the foundation on each side is relatively uniform, which improves the seismic performance of the tower.

Each corner of a planar octagon is a fulcrum. The more fulcrums an object has, the better its stability. Like the Wanshou Pagoda, the twin towers and the Liusheng Pagoda of Kaiyuan Temple are designed as a plane octagon, which not only makes the seemingly heavy granite look symmetrical and feminine, but also basically ensures the stability of the structure.

In order to strengthen the stability of the center of gravity of the tower, the tower is divided layer by layer, and the door niche of each layer is misplaced, so that the pressure of the tower is evenly distributed on the vertical plane of the eight sideline lines.

Lightning attack is a natural factor affecting the Wanshou Tower. 7 per year? On June+10, 5438, Shishi ushered in a season of frequent thunderstorms, often accompanied by the risk of lightning strikes. Wanshou Pagoda was struck by strong lightning in the autumn of the thirty-sixth year of Qing Qianlong (177 1), and the top of the tower was destroyed. Local wealthy businessmen and squires engaged in shipping donated money for reconstruction.

In order to strengthen the monitoring of Wanshou Tower, we installed lightning protection facilities for it, and set up observation points and monitoring instruments for tower inclination, which can obtain relevant data and provide scientific data for the stability protection research of the tower. At the same time, a small weather station has been set up here to observe the weather situation at any time.

Is 10 the preservation of the lintel shape and melon ridge of Wanshou Tower? /kloc-architectural style of stone pagodas in the 0/3rd century. The stone pillars from the second floor to the fifth floor of the tower have the same feature, that is, each stone pillar is composed of three sections. There are gaps between overlapping stone pillars. When an earthquake occurs, these gaps will play a buffering role, which can resist the impulse of friction and extrusion, reduce the earthquake energy, and prevent the tower from collapsing due to its fracture. This is also a model for stone buildings to borrow traditional wooden structures in China for earthquake relief.
