Tongbai Mountain is located at the junction of Henan Province and Hubei Province in China. Most of the north side of its main ridge is in Henan province, which is the transition zone from Qinling Mountain to Dabie Mountain. It belongs to the Shanxi section of Huaiyang, showing northwest-southeast trend. Tongbai Mountain in a narrow sense refers to the area centered on Taibaiding in the south of Tongbai County.
Tongbai Mountain in a broad sense, or Tongbai Mountain Range, refers to the vast mountainous areas starting from the eastern edge of Nanyang Basin, reaching Wushengguan in the southeast and Guangshui City, Suizhou City and Zaoyang City in Hubei Province in the southwest.

The main vein of Tongbai Mountain is located in the south of Tongbai County, at the core of Taibaiding anticline. Due to the influence of Hongyihe fault from northwest to southeast, the mountain boundary is very neat, forming a landform with steep slopes, narrow ridges and towering peaks.
For example, Xiaoxianduo is at an altitude of 1053m, Moyun Shanzhai 1053m, Taibaiding140m, Tianwangzhai1018.3m. The north side of the mountain is the birthplace of the Huaihe River and many tributaries. Rivers cross the mountain, forming a series of deep valleys and nearly north-south mountains, making the mountain more majestic.
