Legend: According to the inscription in the temple, Zhu Jianshu, the duke of Wang Xiang's love, died during Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty. Wang Xiang took a fancy to the geomantic omen of Yunju Temple and buried Effie next to it. Kricketot, the host of Yunju Temple, was very dissatisfied and wanted to take the crowd away. The Buddhist temple in Xiangyang wrote a letter condemning Wang Xiang, but Wang Xiang had no choice but to ask the emperor to mediate. Zhu Jianshen, the emperor of Chenghua, issued an imperial edict, asking Wang Xiang to choose a treasure trove of geomantic omen nearby, and the government should provide its own materials to build temples for monks. When the temple was completed and returned to the monks, Zhu Jianshen changed the name of the temple to "guangde temple". "To guangde temple" is still hanging on the gate of guangde temple.
