Noble tombs become "family tombs" and civilian tombs become "national tombs", which is very different. Noble tombs are concentrated in the region, while civilian tombs are scattered and irregular. Moreover, funerary objects are also very different. Noble tombs are accompanied by bronzes and pottery, and there are many coffins. Civilian tombs are simple rectangular vertical holes, accompanied by one or two pottery, and there are no coffins.
Human beings put a corpse or the remains of a corpse in a certain way in a specific place, which is called "burial". The fixed facilities for placing corpses or their remains are called "graves". In the archaeological circles of China, these two tombs are often called "tombs". After nearly a thousand years' development, the forms of ancient tombs in China have greatly developed.
