First of all, introduce You Chuntu.
You Chuntu is a painting created by Zhan Ziqian, a painter in Sui Dynasty. This is a green silk replica with the words "Zhan Ziqian You Chuntu" inscribed by Song Huizong. This is the earliest picture scroll in the world. Its existence plays an extremely important role in the history of painting art in China and even in the world.
Second, You Chuntu's creative background.
Great changes have taken place in the development of ancient landscape painting in China in the Sui Dynasty. It is no longer regarded as a part of the background of character story painting, but separated from the former and became an independent painting discipline. Prior to this, the landscape painting attached to the character story painting had great limitations in the expression method.
It shows that there are obvious shortcomings in expressing the relationship between natural scenery and people or other objects, as well as the distance, and the painter has not found a suitable artistic expression method to describe the magnificent and beautiful landscape. You Chuntu reflects the characteristics of landscape painting in the stage of change and development.
