According to the legend of Tomb-Sweeping Day, Tomb-Sweeping Day is one of the traditional festivals in China. In this festival, we will worship ancestors and race dragon boats, which is also one of the festivals that people attach importance to. You and I can hear many legends about Tomb-Sweeping Day in Tomb-Sweeping Day, so let's have a look.
The legend of Tomb-Sweeping Day 1 (1)
"There are many rains during the Qingming period, and pedestrians on the road want to break their souls." The word "broken soul" points out Tomb-Sweeping Day's special sadness. When I was a child, whenever I was in Tomb-Sweeping Day, my parents would take me to the grave to burn incense. If I don't go, I will say: my dead relatives miss me very much, and then my stomach hurts, so I don't want to go every time.
Now, I have grown up, worked and left home. Tomb-Sweeping Day may not be able to go home to visit the grave. I can only call my parents and ask them to take a message when they go to the grave to show "respect for time." It's not that I, a junior, don't go home to see them, but I can't help it.
Of course, this is not superstition, and I don't believe that going to the grave is painless. I just think it is natural for the younger generation to respect their elders. Although these elders have left me, their spirit is still circulating in the family. Only in this way can we express our thoughts and respect them.
"The grass is green and wild, and the spring is around the mountains." The word "pen" presents a vibrant scene of the Qingming March School. Tomb-Sweeping Day, besides paying homage to our ancestors and leaving sad tears, shouldn't we also be worthy of this special gift of spring flowers and do more healthy activities that we love?
As the agricultural proverb goes, "All plants and trees are soldiers, so don't be too bright." During the Qingming Festival, the spring is bright, the temperature rises, the spring rain flies and the rainfall increases, which can be described as a godsend opportunity for spring ploughing and spring planting. Moreover, China has the habit of planting trees in Qingming since ancient times, which is of great significance for mobilizing the people of the whole country to actively carry out green cities and return to nature.
"Pear blossoms are clear, and wanderers are out of the spring city." "It's sunny now. You might as well have a swim and don't forget to come back." Before and after Tomb-Sweeping Day, spring returns to the earth, the sun is warm in spring, and the flowers are red and green, which is a good time to go for an outing.
The ancients advocated self-cultivation, the modern market competition is fierce, people's life rhythm is accelerated, and more attention should be paid to health and leisure. Two or three pairs of hikers, holding cameras, capture all kinds of vegetation and look for the feeling of the earth in their pupils. Or listen to the confession of nature, or listen to the confession of nature, let the wind smooth the wrinkles of the soul and tell the mystery of life and nature. Tomb-Sweeping Day should give people more health hints.
Tomb-Sweeping Day has arrived. Should you do something?

According to legend, at the end of the Qin Dynasty, Liu Bang, the Emperor Gaozu, and Xiang Yu, the overlord of the Western Chu Dynasty, finally won the world after several rounds of wars. When he returned to his hometown, he wanted to worship his parents' graves, but due to years of war, the graves were covered with weeds, and the tombstones were uneven, some broken and some broken, and the words on the tombstones were unrecognizable.
Liu bang is very sad. Although his subordinates also helped him search all the tombstones, he didn't find his parents' graves until dusk. Finally, Liu Bang took out a piece of paper from his sleeve, tore it into many small pieces by hand and held it tightly in his hand. Then he prayed to God: "My parents are alive in heaven, and now the wind is blowing so hard that I will throw these little pieces of paper into the air." If the paper falls in one place and the wind cannot move, it is my parents' grave. "
Say that finish, Liu Bang threw the paper into the air, and sure enough, a piece of paper landed on a grave that could not be blown no matter how the wind blew. Liu bang ran over and looked at the vague tombstone carefully, and sure enough he saw his parents' names engraved on it.
Liu Bang was so happy that he immediately had his parents' graves renovated. Since then, Tomb-Sweeping Day has visited his parents' graves every year. Later, folk people, like Liu Bang, went to the ancestral graves every year in Tomb-Sweeping Day, and pressed a few pieces of paper on the graves with small clods to show that the graves had been swept.

The annual Tomb-Sweeping Day is coming. At this moment, people can't help thinking about the long and glorious history of our national culture. In the Zhou dynasty 2500 years ago, our ancestors planted melons and beans to plant trees during the Qingming period, which has become an important solar term among the people. There is also a story about the monarch and his subjects told by Jin Wengong Zhong Er and the loyal minister Jiezi, which shows the 5,000-year-old civilization of China.
It was in the distant Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period that Li Ji, the concubine of Jin Xiangong, set a poisonous trap to kill Prince Shen Sheng in order to let her son Xi inherit the throne. Prince Shen Sheng was forced to commit suicide, and his younger brother Zhong Er was exiled and humiliated to escape the scourge. He was exiled 19 years.
On the long escape road, most courtiers who followed him parted ways. Only Hu Yan, the son of his uncle, and several loyal officials, such as Zhao Shuai and Jiezitui, shared joys and sorrows with him and never gave up.
On one occasion, they ran to Weiguo, and Wei Wengong did not treat them with courtesy. After the five deer, the local villagers refused to eat and threw clods. Zhong Er was dizzy with hunger and couldn't support it any longer. Meson pushed Zhong Er to bite the bullet and gave him meat, which saved his life. When they arrived in Cao, the monarch of Cao turned and left. Dr. Cao gave a negative warning: "Zhong Er's eyes and threats are heaven and man."
In other words, Zhong Er's ribs are connected and given to us by God. We should not treat them lightly. Cao reluctantly took it in, but let his wife and concubine peek at the bath, which was humiliating. To sue Zheng, the monarch ignored him and left with humiliation.
After all, Zhong Er is the son of the State of Jin, and many monarchs have received him. Qi Huangong married his daughter Qi Jiang to Zhong Er, and gave him more than 20 carriages, which made it convenient for Zhong Er to travel. Song Xianggong gave a horse as a gift and personally saw him off, helping Zhong Er out of trouble.
The king of Chu sent chariots and horses to advise them and sent Zhong Er to the State of Qin. Accompanied by Gong Zi, Qin Minister Baijila, Gong and others, he returned to the State of Jin and became a monarch.
When Zhong Er became a monarch, he was Jin Wengong. He thanked those loyal ministers and righteous men who were loyal to him through life and death, and rewarded them one by one, but forgot to give him a piece of meat. Jin Wengong suddenly remembered the past and finally remembered the meson who saved himself in the hot water on the line of life and death.
Feeling guilty, I immediately sent someone to ask meson to push him to the court to be rewarded and sealed. Sent several times, mesons can't push, Jin Wengong had to please. However, when Jin Wengong came to the meson pusher's house, he saw that the door was closed. Jiezitui didn't want to see him, and had already been hiding in Mianshan (now southeast of Jiexiu County, Shanxi Province) behind his mother's back.
So Jin Wengong asked his guards to search Mianshan, but they didn't find it. At this time, someone came up with an idea and said, it is better to let Yamakaji go, set fire on three sides and leave one side. When the fire started, Jiezitui was a dutiful son. When he sees the fire, he will definitely ride out on his old mother's back.
Jin Wengong ordered the promotion of Yamakaji. Unexpectedly, the fire burned for three days and nights. After the fire was put out, the meson was not pushed out after all. Looking up the mountain, the mother and son were holding a charred willow tree and were dead.
Jin Wengong looked at meson push's body, cried for a while, and then buried the body. He found that the back of meson push was blocked by a willow hole. There seems to be something in the hole, so he takes it out to have a look. It turned out to be a skirt with a blood poem on it:
I hope your master is always clear.
It is better to be a ghost than to accompany you as an exhorter.
If your master has me in his heart, remember that I often reflect.
I have a clear conscience in Jiuquan, diligent and honest.
Jin Wengong hid the bloody book in his sleeve. Then meson tui and his mother were buried under the charred willow tree. To commemorate Jiexiu, Jin Wengong ordered Mianshan to be changed to Jiexiu Mountain, and an ancestral temple was built on the mountain, and the day when Yamakaji was released was designated as the Cold Food Festival, telling the whole country that it is forbidden to set off fireworks and firecrackers on this day every year and only eat cold food.
He cut down another burnt willow and made a pair of clogs in the palace. He looked at it every day and sighed, "What a pity." The "first step" is the name of ancient people's subordinates respecting each other between superiors or peers, which is said to come from it.
The following year, Jin Wengong led his ministers to go hiking in plain clothes to show their respect and condolences. Walking to the grave, I saw the old willow coming back from the dead and thousands of green branches dancing in the wind. Jin Wengong looked at the resurrected old willow tree and seemed to see the meson push.
He walked up to him respectfully, lovingly squeezed a branch, braided it into a circle and put it on his head. After the sacrifice, Jin Wengong named the revived old willow "Qingming Willow" and named it Tomb-Sweeping Day.
Later, Jin Wengong often took a bloody book with him as a souvenir, urging himself to take power. He was diligent and honest, and made great efforts to become one of the five tyrants in the Spring and Autumn Period.
The people of Jin can live and work in peace and contentment, and they miss the people who have made great achievements but do not seek wealth. On the day of his death, it is forbidden to set off fireworks in memory of him. It is also made of flour and jujube paste into the shape of a swallow, strung with willows and inserted in the door to summon his soul. This thing is called "pushing swallows" (also called intermediary pushing).
Since then, cold food and Qingming have become grand festivals for the people of the whole country. Whenever there is cold food, people don't make a fire to cook, but only eat cold food. In the north, people only eat cold food prepared in advance, such as jujube cakes, wheat cakes and various snacks. In the south, there are mostly green balls and glutinous rice and sugar lotus roots. Every time I go to Tomb-Sweeping Day, people put wicker in a circle and put wicker branches in front of the house to show their memory.
The ancients said, "Parents do what they can, but princes do what they can." Meson push sets an example for the world; Outstanding achievements, not seeking wealth, meson push took the lead in setting an example, immortal, and made great contributions to the 5 thousand-year civilization of the Chinese nation.
When Tomb-Sweeping Day is coming, let's remember our ancestors, carry forward traditional civilization, and work hard to realize the Chinese dream of the whole nation and build a better tomorrow!
Legend of Tomb-Sweeping Day 2 Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival (1)
In the Spring and Autumn Period, Zhong Er, the son of the Jin Dynasty, went into exile to escape persecution. On the way to exile, in a deserted place, Zhong Er had no strength and could not stand up. He and Minister Jiezitui went to a secluded place, cut a piece of meat from their legs and made a bowl of broth for Zhong Er. Zhong Er's strength improved after drinking.
19 years later, Zhong Er became the monarch, rewarded his exiled hero, and forgot meson push. Some people advised mesons to put a reward on the army. He despises such people the most. He packed his bags and ran quietly up the hill with him.
When Zhong Er heard this, he wanted to push the meson down the mountain, but there were too many trees on the mountain to walk, so Zhong Er wanted to smoke him down. As a result, the meson was pushed to death, leaving a bloody book: do your best, sacrifice your body, and may your master grow clear.
So this day is Tomb-Sweeping Day.
The Legend of Qingming (2)
In my hometown, there is a legend about Tomb-Sweeping Day. It is said that during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, a prince fled with him during his exile, and most courtiers parted ways. Only a few loyal people stayed and followed him. One of them is called meson push.
Once, the prince fainted from hunger. In order to save the prince, Jiezitui cut a piece of meat from his leg and cooked it with fire for him to eat. Nineteen years later, the prince returned to China and became a monarch. Later, someone said that Jin Wengong.
After Jin Wengong came to power, in addition to meson push, he offered many rewards to courtiers who shared his joys and sorrows. Someone defended meson in front of Jin Wengong. Jin Wengong remembered the past and felt guilty. Jin Wengong went to invite him himself. However, when Jin Wengong came to the meson pusher's house, he saw that the door was closed.
Jiezitui didn't want to see him and hid in the mountains behind his mother's back. Jin Wengong asked his body guard to search the mountain, but he couldn't find it. So, someone had an idea, saying, it is better to let Yamakaji go, set fire on three sides, and keep one side, hoping that the meson will come out by himself after the fire.
Jin Wengong ordered the promotion of Yamakaji. Unexpectedly, the fire burned for three days and nights. After the fire was put out, the meson was not pushed out after all. Looking up the mountain, the mother and son were holding a charred willow tree and were dead.
On the day of Tomb-Sweeping Day in the second year, Jin Wengong led the ministers to the Miao Jie Temple at the foot of the mountain to pay homage to Jiexiu, and saw the burning willow on the burning forest slope come back from the dead. Jin Wengong thought that willow was transformed from mesons, so he named it Qingming Willow. People in the state of Jin want to hang willow branches at home, plant willows at graves and go hiking in the mountains.
The Legend of Qingming (3)
During the Spring and Autumn Period, Zhong Er, the son of the Jin Dynasty, went into exile to escape persecution. On the way to exile, he was tired and hungry in a deserted place and couldn't stand up anymore. After looking for it for a long time, the minister couldn't find anything to eat. Everyone is anxious. Minister meson pushed him to a secluded place, cut a piece of meat from his thigh and cooked a bowl of broth for childe to drink. Zhong Er gradually recovered his spirit. Zhong Er shed tears when he found that the meat was cut off by mesons pushing his legs.
Nineteen years later, Zhong Er became the monarch, that is, the historical Jin Wengong. After he ascended the throne, Wen Gong rewarded the heroes who accompanied him in exile at first, but forgot to push the meson. Many people complained about meson push and advised him to admire it. However, mesons despise those who strive for merit the most. He packed his bags and quietly went to Mianshan to live in seclusion.
Hearing this, Jin Wengong was ashamed and personally took someone to ask Jiexiu, but Jiexiu had left home for Mianshan. Mianshan Mountain is high and dangerous, with dense trees. It's hard to find two people. Someone offered a plan to burn Mianshan from three sides and force a meson to push out.
The fire burned all over Mianshan, but there was no trace of meson push. After the fire was put out, it was found that Jiezitui had sat under an old willow tree with his old mother on his back and died. Jin Wengong cried. When I was buried, I found a bloody book in a tree hole, which read: May my master be clear forever. To commemorate meson tui, Jin Wengong ordered that this day be designated as Cold Food Festival.
The following year, Jin Wengong led the minister to climb a mountain to pay homage, and found that the old willow tree came back from the dead. He gave Lao Liu a Qingming willow and told the world that the day after the Cold Food Festival was designated as Tomb-Sweeping Day.
The legend of Tomb-Sweeping Day (4)
According to legend, Zhong Er, the son of the State of Jin in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, fled his hometown to escape the scourge. Zhong Er fainted from hunger. Qingming ghost festival taboo
In Tomb-Sweeping Day, sweeping graves to worship ancestors is the most important activity. While going out to worship, there are many places to pay attention to. Only by making all preparations can we live a safe Tomb-Sweeping Day.
Matters needing attention in geomantic omen when sweeping graves.
1. When sweeping a grave in Tomb-Sweeping Day, all weeds on the grave should be cut off first, and the periphery of the grave should be repaired. Then we can add some new soil to the grave and burn some paper or fragrant wine to worship.
2. Sweeping graves is also a good time to observe whether the feng shui of ancestral graves is suppressed. A basically qualified geomantic omen can be avoided if the grave is wide, supported at the back, low at the front and high at the back, and there is nothing to shoot at the grave. If the back hill is cut down, there will be disaster for future generations. You can move as soon as possible or try to make up for the deadline.
3. When Tomb-Sweeping Day visits the grave, he'd better remember to go in sunny days, never in the evening. The best time is between 9 am and 3 pm. If people with weak congenital constitution are best to walk together, pay more attention to your feet when sweeping graves so as not to step on other people's graves. Don't touch other people's tombstones with your feet, it's not good for you. At the same time, when sweeping the grave, be respectful and don't laugh.
I suggest you choose more familiar roads on the pedestrian line and don't try to take remote roads. On the one hand, it is unsafe, on the other hand, it is easy to have an unfavorable gas field.
4. Tomb-Sweeping Day is also the time to dig or move graves. Under normal circumstances, you can't dig a hole in the grave, otherwise it will cause unfavorable geomantic omen. In Tomb-Sweeping Day, when the sun rises and the yin falls, if you dig a hole in the grave at this time, the harm can be minimized.
The Legend of Tomb-Sweeping Day 3 The Origin of Tomb-Sweeping Day
Qingming was just the name of a solar term at first, and later became a festival to commemorate ancestors, which was related to the Cold Food Festival. Jin Wengong designated the second day of the Cold Food Festival as Tomb-Sweeping Day. In most parts of Shanxi, the day before Tomb-Sweeping Day was the Cold Food Festival. Tomb-Sweeping Day in Yushe County and other places celebrated the Cold Food Festival two days ago; Yuanqu County also pays attention to Tomb-Sweeping Day's Cold Food Festival the day before, and the light cold food the day before.
Tomb-Sweeping Day is one of the important "eight festivals a year" in China. Generally, it is around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar, and the festival is very long. There are two sayings: 8 days before 10 and 10 days before 10, and these 20 days belong to Tomb-Sweeping Day. Tomb-Sweeping Day originally referred to Tomb-Sweeping Day, and the government of the Republic of China designated April 5, 1935 as a national holiday, that is, 15 days after the vernal equinox, also known as the National Tomb Sweeping Festival.
Tomb-Sweeping Day's taboo
First, pregnant women should avoid sweeping graves.
It's better for pregnant women to avoid tomb sweeping activities in Qingming, which is not only the influence of heavy yin. In other respects, Tomb-Sweeping Day is very crowded. For the safety of the fetus, pregnant women are not recommended to participate. Moreover, the weather of sweeping graves and the surrounding environment are not conducive to the health of pregnant women. In addition, if women have official holidays, they should also avoid such activities.
Second, don't take pictures in the cemetery.
The purpose of sweeping graves is to worship ancestors, not to have fun. There is a god who holds his head three feet high. It is best to be respectful, careful and cautious when sweeping the grave. Never take pictures in the cemetery, or even take pictures at will, otherwise it will attract bad atmosphere, cause imbalance between Yin and Yang, and damage personal fortune.
Third, avoid wearing big red and purple.
Tomb-Sweeping Day can't wear red and purple to visit the grave, and I believe everyone will not wear such clothes to attend such activities. However, some people will be careless and inadvertently use red in clothes or underwear. Of course, the animal year is an exception, and underwear can be worn in red.
Fourth, outsiders should not participate in other people's grave sweeping.
It is taboo for people outside Tomb-Sweeping Day to participate in grave-sweeping, and it is easy to cause unnecessary trouble. After all, it is not a family, and different blessings may cause disorder in the gas field, leading to disharmony and bad luck.
Five, the body is not good, bad luck to avoid sweeping the grave.
A person is in a state of illness or weakness, or has bad luck recently, and everything is not going well. It is best not to go to grave-sweeping activities, because such a person's overall fortune is very low and it is easy to bring bad luck. To put it bluntly, it is evil, because gloomy things are the most popular people, and such people lack popularity and are easy to be violated.
6. The grass in front of the grave must be trimmed.
Plants that grow on graves must be pulled out and never grow into climate. This is the most important thing, but you should know that sweeping the grave is to clean up things that are not conducive to the cemetery. The vegetation on the grave will do harm to the family, including luck and health, which is greatly unfavorable.
Seven, don't buy shoes that don't cover your forehead.
In fact, Tomb-Sweeping Day is a Halloween, of course, we should pay attention to the hairstyle, especially the hair can't cover the forehead. This is the magic lamp of the human body, and it can't be covered. At the same time, don't buy shoes on the same day, because shoes are the same evil, and most friends with common sense won't buy shoes on this day, so as not to be unlucky.
Eight, avoid teasing and scolding, criticizing ancestors.
After the grave-sweeping, someone took the children. It may be serious at first, but as soon as it's over, they start fighting and laughing. We should pay attention to this. You know, after all, the cemetery is the resting place of the ghost. Laughing and cursing will disturb yin qi, which is disrespectful and may lead to revenge. Criticizing ancestors is even more undesirable. If you pass by someone else's cemetery and judge the dead is blasphemy, then it is no wonder who is unlucky.
Traditional customs in Tomb-Sweeping Day
play on the swing
This is the custom of ancient Tomb-Sweeping Day in China. Swing, that is, lift the rope, move. It has a very long history. It was originally called Qian Qiu, but later it was changed into a swing to avoid taboos. In ancient times, swings were made of branches and tied with ribbons. Later, it gradually developed into two ropes, a pedal swing. Playing swing can not only improve health, but also cultivate courage, which is deeply loved by people, especially children.
play football
Bow is a rubber ball, the skin of which is made of leather, and the ball is stuffed with wool. Cuju is kicking the ball with your feet. This is a popular game in ancient Tomb-Sweeping Day. According to legend, it was invented by the Yellow Emperor with the original purpose of training warriors.
spring outing
Also called spring outing. It was called Tanchun and Xunchun in ancient times. In March, Tomb-Sweeping Day, spring returns to the earth, and nature is full of vitality everywhere, which is a good time to go for an outing. People in our country have been keeping the habit of traveling in Tomb-Sweeping Day for a long time.
plant trees
Before and after Tomb-Sweeping Day, the spring is bright and the spring rain is falling. The planted seedlings have high survival rate and fast growth. Therefore, China has the habit of planting trees in Tomb-Sweeping Day since ancient times. Some people even call Tomb-Sweeping Day Arbor Day. The custom of planting trees has been passed down to this day. 1979, the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) stipulated March 12 every year as China's Arbor Day. This is of great significance to mobilize people of all ethnic groups in China to actively carry out activities to green the motherland.
fly a kite
This is also the most popular activity in Tomb-Sweeping Day. During Tomb-Sweeping Day, people not only played during the day, but also at night. At night, a string of colored lanterns is hung under the kite or on the wind-stabilizing stay, like twinkling stars, which is called "magic lamp". Someone used to put kites in the blue sky, then cut the strings and let the breeze send them to the ends of the earth. It is said that this can eliminate diseases and disasters and bring good luck to yourself.
