Original poem:
Climb high and miss the ancient oil for thousands of miles, but the willows in your eyes are like Jiangnan.
The red sunset is in the temple outside the temple, and the wind has not yet come, and the wind has already blown the buildings in Xianyang.
At dusk, birds fly in the garden, and in late autumn, cicadas chirp in the leafy trees.
Passers-by don't ask about the past, only the Weihe River flows eastward as always.
Translation:
When Wan Li was climbing a tall building, homesickness came to him. In his eyes, water plants and willows are like Tingzhou in the south of the Yangtze River. Sunset rose from the clouds outside the pavilion, and strong winds blew all over the Xianyang Tower before the rain. At dusk, birds fly in the overgrown garden, and in late autumn, cicadas sing in the trees with dead leaves and branches. Passers-by don't ask about the past, only Weishui flows eastward as always.

Poetry appreciation
This poem was written in the third year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty (849), when Xu Hun was in charge of supervising the imperial history. The legacy of partisan struggle is still strong, and state affairs are worrying. The first couplet is full of homesickness and anxiety about Wan Li. "Zhuan Xu" describes the changes of society with the changes of nature, which runs through the paper and has typical symbolic significance, and will be celebrated through the ages.
With the help of Qin and Han relics, the necklace expands "Wan Li's sorrow" into an eternal sorrow, giving the same mountains and rivers and vicissitudes. The couplet at the end has profound implications, which makes the whole article have the advantage of "a scene is difficult to write, such as in front of you, with inexhaustible opinions" and endless aftertaste.
