Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, worked hard from a poor cowherd and eventually overthrew the rule of the Yuan Dynasty and became the founding emperor. In the process of creating the foundation of the Great Ming Dynasty, one person played an important role. He is Liu Bowen, regarded as a magical figure comparable to Zhuge Liang.
Liu Bowen, named Liu Ji, was born in qingtian county (now wencheng county, Wenzhou, Zhejiang). He is familiar with astronomy and geography and the art of war. He can calculate and predict things accurately. His life is full of legends and he has made great contributions to Daming Mountain. He was praised as "my ovary" by Zhu Yuanzhang.
Liu Bowen, who achieved great success, retired from his hometown and did something on his way home, leaving a lot of imagination for future generations. On his way home, Liu Bowen passed the Yuyuan Garden (south of Wuyi County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province) and met his good friend and old classmate Yu Lai. The two had a good talk and had a long talk. Usually drought, flood, fire or plague. In short, people have a hard time.
Liu Bowen, deeply concerned about the sufferings of the people, decided to help solve these seemingly unsolvable problems of ordinary people, but it was not a problem for him who was proficient in geomantic omen. After investigation, he saw the problem. He thought Yuyuan Village was a good place for geomantic omen, but it was destroyed by a DC in the village.
So, according to the eight diagrams of Yin and Yang in Tai Chi, he changed the stream into a winding shape, formed the layout of the zodiac with the surrounding hills, and planted a white oak tree in the position of fish in Tai Chi. This tree is now over 600 years old and 27.8 meters high.
In addition, the layout of buildings in the village was adjusted, seven wells and seven ponds were dug according to the shape of the Big Dipper, and the planning of buildings in the village was designed according to the layout of Qinglong, Baihu, Suzaku and Xuanwu, and Yulai warned future generations that if building a house, it must follow the layout he designed.
Strange to say, it is said that the water in the well will become turbid and clear according to the weather. And those ponds, later generations also tried to fill one of them to build a house. As a result, there will be a fire every time, which is always tried and tested.

Since then, the village has become a treasure trove of feng shui, and there has never been a drought or flood disaster. Even in dry years, it will rain on June 26th every year. Not only that, it's more like a place full of aura. Many descendants of scholars are outstanding, and they entered the DPRK as officials, and more than 260 people came out before and after, which is really outstanding.
There are many magical legends in Yuyuan Village, which makes us marvel at Liu Bowen's wisdom. These phenomena cannot be explained or unconvincing with today's scientific viewpoint. The profoundness of China's traditional culture needs further exploration and excavation by future generations. It is not a matter of time to understand how the ancients reached the realm of harmony between man and nature.
Yuyuan Village is now open to tourists as a major tourist attraction. However, it is a pity that many layouts and buildings in the village have been destroyed. There are few ponds and wells left, and many ancient buildings have disappeared. Maybe it's time to reflect.
