The hub project consists of the dam, the powerhouse in the dam, the deep diversion open channel, the bottom outlet for flood discharge and emptying, the navigation structure and the irrigation diversion pipe. The dam type is a concrete open-web gravity arch dam with a fixed center and radius (the largest open-web gravity arch dam in the world at that time), with a maximum dam height of 1 12.5m, a dam crest elevation of 2 1 1.5m, a radius of 243m at the dam axis and a central angle of the dam crest of1/kloc. Open spillway is used for flood discharge and high and low ridges. The overflow section * * * has 13 overflow orifices, 7 low ridges and 6 high ridges, which are distributed along the dam axis, with a total length of 263m, weir crest elevation193m, overflow width182m, width14m and height of 65444m. The powerhouse of the power station is arranged in an arc cavity with a total volume of 1.84 million cubic meters from 5# to 20# dam sections, and the main powerhouse is equipped with 4 single machines 1 10,000 MW units and 1 220 kV switchyard; The power generation diversion open channel is arranged in the overflow dam section from 9# to 12# on the left bank, and the dam face inlet high-pressure deep-hole gate type single-machine single-pipe water diversion is adopted, with the maximum water diversion volume162m3/s; The bottom outlet for flood discharge and venting is located at 2 1# non-overflow dam section on the right bank, with a total horizontal length of 86m, the sill elevation at the bottom outlet 145m, and the discharge at normal water level of 200m 1300m3/s: navigation structure is located at No.22 dam section on the right bank abutment, with an angle of 2916444. On the right bank, the elevation of the inlet bottom of the irrigation diversion pipe from No.23 to No.24 non-overflow dam section is 178m, which has been rebuilt as the water intake pipe of the hydropower station.
The reservoir basin of Fengtan Hydropower Station spans four provinces and one city of Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and Chongqing *** 17500 square kilometers, accounting for 94.4% of the total basin area. There is abundant rainfall in the basin, with annual average rainfall 14 15mm and annual runoff 159 billion cubic meters.
