There are three taboos in releasing turtles

In traditional Chinese culture, releasing animals is considered an act of accumulating blessings and doing good deeds. There are indeed some taboos when releasing turtles, including the following.

Choose a suitable location: Turtles should not be released into an environment that is not suitable for survival. It is inappropriate to release a freshwater turtle into a saltwater environment, or release a turtle into freshwater. It should not be placed in areas where it will cause damage to the ecosystem, or places with frequent human activities and serious water pollution.

Make sure the turtle is healthy: Before releasing it, make sure the turtle is in good health and free of disease. Releasing sick and weak turtles would not only be detrimental to their survival, but would also pose a risk of disease transmission to wild populations.

Respect the laws of nature: There should be no inappropriate interference with turtles, such as arbitrary changes in physiological characteristics or behavioral habits. Cutting off a turtle's sharp claws or removing natural markings on its carapace is disrespectful of nature and the animal's nature.
