Generally, buddhas and bodhisattvas are covered with a piece of cloth, because there is no place to put them, so they can only be placed in bedrooms and other places. To show respect, it is covered with a clean cloth.
I don't know who said that, it must be red or yellow; I don't know who said I want to make a cloak; I don't know who says the bigger the cloak, the better; I don't know who said "wishing" (even the word was invented by later generations, and it didn't exist in Sanzang, only wishing, not wishing, wishing) to add a cloak, and so on.
