The draw for the FIBA Asian Cup qualifiers in 2025 came out. As the second team in East Asia, the China Men's Basketball Team is divided into Group C, along with Guam, Japan and Mongolia.
On March 3rd, FIBA announced 24 teams participating in the 2025 Asian Cup Men's Basketball Qualifiers, namely: Australia, New Zealand, Jordan, Iran, China, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, Lebanon, China, Taipei, Indonesia, Syria, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, India, Kazakhstan, China, China, Hong Kong, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Palestine.
In the basketball World Cup that ended before, the China men's basketball team ranked 29th with a score of 1 win and 4 losses, which was the worst record in history and missed the Paris Olympic Games. The Asian preliminaries are divided into 6 groups, with 4 teams in each group. The top two players in each group directly qualify (*** 12 teams). The third place in each group (6 teams in total) will be divided into two groups by region for the second round of elimination. The top two teams in each group qualify, and the fourth team is reborn. In the end, a total of 16 teams entered the 2025 Asian Cup.
