Why did Korean women's football team play Singapore twice in the Asian Games?

Asian Games is the largest comprehensive sports event in Asia, which is held every four years. Different from other sports games, some events of the Asian Games may need to adopt complicated seed ranking and grouping arrangement to determine the relationship between the participating teams.

According to the ranking and grouping rules of the Asian Football Federation (AFC) for the participating teams in each event, the participating teams are usually divided into several groups, and the teams in each group will play round robin. In some cases, when the teams in a group share the points equally, other rules are needed to determine the final promotion team, such as goal difference and total number of goals.

However, in the football events of the Asian Games, the teams participating in the women's football events are usually limited. In order to ensure the fairness and competitiveness of the competition, the organizers may take a similar way to seed ranking when drawing lots in groups, and divide the top teams into different groups. In this way, in the group match, teams in the same group may play multiple games.

So in this case, the Korean women's football team and the Singapore women's football team may be in the same group, so there will be two matches. This arrangement aims to increase the competitiveness and appreciation of the competition, and ensure that each team can have sufficient opportunities to show their strength.
