According to written records and legends, wrestling began as early as 4000 years ago in primitive society. At that time, in order to survive, people used their own strength and skills to get food and self-defense in the struggle with nature and conflicts between tribes, which led to ancient wrestling.
After the Three Kingdoms, Cao Cao vigorously advocated wrestling, not only as a means of training, but also as a hundred plays. A large brick of Han tomb unearthed in Nanyang City, Henan Province is engraved with a corner play.
In the Yuan Dynasty, in order to prevent the Han nationality and other ethnic minorities from rebelling, their rulers banned folk sumo and other martial arts activities, so the wrestling activities of the Han nationality and other ethnic groups and their development were restricted.
