Our great classic "On One Meridian" says: "One root, two roads and two positive results, knowing and not knowing are different."

Tibetan: "? . "

Explain the relationship between this taught dzogchen and our life through the above two sentences. Dzogchen advocated "foundation, Tao and fruit". Foundation is the foundation, which is the foundation for the growth, change and development of all things; Tao is the way to success and the foundation of development and evolution. Just like a primary school student gradually becomes a doctoral student through study; Fruit is the fruit of Tao and the essence of foundation. The pedestal is like a mirror polluted by dirt. Tao is to clean dirt by some means, and fruit is a washed mirror, which is the essence of the mirror. In other words: foundation is a polluted mirror, and fruit is a mirror away from pollution. The basic fruit is actually the phenomenon of the evolution and growth of all things, and it is also the growth and change of our hearts. The essence is one.

A base?

The "one foundation" mentioned here is our nature. It is unique and has no ego, so we call it one foundation. We play many different roles on the big stage of life, including mother, daughter, wife, teacher and so on. But no matter what you become, what status, what knowledge, your essence will not change. Just as water can be changed into sea water, lake water, ice cubes, muddy water, tea, boiled water, warm water and cold water, the essence of water remains unchanged. Similarly, our hearts are kind, disgusting, kind, bad, arrogant, jealous, resentful, greedy, selfish and stupid, but the essence will not change. These troubles, kindness and nausea are all temporary changes. For example, cups are cups when drinking tea; When drinking, call a glass; Call a cup when drinking water. But its essence is a cup, and its material, technology and shape have not changed, only because of its different uses, it has led to various appearances and names.

From dzogchen's point of view, originally pure and natural, there is no dualism, it is about nature. Then dualism, and finally everything in the universe. Samsara and nirvana, Buddha and sentient beings, good and evil, good and evil are all formed the day after tomorrow. All these phenomena are caused by external reasons, and the habits stored in our knowledge in Araya have not been completely eradicated. These samsara and nirvana, Buddha and sentient beings, good and evil, good and evil are all caused by our extreme understanding of things or nature. For example, if you build a bed, the material has not changed, but according to the needs of customers and the use in life, we build beds of different sizes and colors, and finally produce different kinds of beds. People often think that they are far away from the Buddha, and we are from two worlds. In fact, our self-righteous cognition and affirmation have turned us into two worlds. We always think that I am like this and the Buddha is like that. We must think we are different from others. This sense of identity has created all kinds of species. For example, to be friends with someone, you need mutual recognition to be friends; For example, if you want to be someone's husband or wife, you also need the approval of both parties. Only through mutual responsibility and emotional communication can we become husband and wife. At first, our essence was like a blank sheet of paper. Later, we drew different pictures and words with different colors of ink, and then turned them into flags, scriptures, cloth and so on, all from scratch. Dzogchen's samsara and nirvana, Buddha and all sentient beings are wiped out.

Two ways refer to two different understandings. For example, although our essence is one, everyone's life experience, life background and cultural background are different, which leads to the difference in life. This difference is not an essential difference, but a difference caused by the difference of environment and life experience. For example, you are twin sisters, born of the same parents. At first, you went to school and lived in the same environment, but later, because of different life experiences and different living and working environments, their life paths and values will be very different. In fact, everyone living on this planet has almost different values, outlook on life, outlook on life and Buddhism, even different beliefs, cultural customs and customs, but the essence is the same.

The reason why Buddha and all beings have different views on everything in the world, life and practice is because they stand from different angles. For example, if you look out from the first floor, the scenery you see is definitely different from standing on the second, third or even eighteenth floor. In fact, it's not that the scenery outside has changed, but that your perspectives are different, which leads to different views on the scenery. For example, our understanding of happiness as a child is an acquisition. Two people fought for a toy and finally got him, feeling extremely happy. Twenty or thirty years old, the understanding of happiness is a process of pursuing and enjoying the pursuit. Seeing the ground, I keep making breakthroughs in my work and feel happy inside; When you have experienced wind and rain, accumulated experience and seen through a lot, your happiness is an attitude, depending on how you understand happiness. All this is just that your inner values, outlook on life, outlook on life, Buddhism and practice are constantly improving and changing. It can be seen that the views of Buddha and sentient beings on everything and life are not necessarily absolute. So what exactly does the second finger mean? The second way is the way of Buddhism and the way of all beings. Buddhism and Taoism have no self and stay away from the troubles of the five poisons; The way of all beings is self-nature, and his world is full of troubles such as arrogance, jealousy, greed, selfishness, hatred, hatred and stupidity, which is also the difference between Buddha and all beings.

Master Jambananka, a famous achiever of this religion, said: "Buddha is an awakened sentient being, and all sentient beings are buddhas who have not yet realized." The difference between them lies in the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, that is, the difference between one thought and another. Tantric Six Continues? As the saying goes, "All living beings are Buddhas, and if they are dyed clean, they will become Buddhas." This book was written in A.D. 10 17, and was written by Qin Xing Luga, a master in the Tibetan area of Gamba County, Shigatse City, Tibet.

Everything has its essential and superficial phenomenon, which is called secular truth and just truth in Buddhism. One is essential truth, and the other is superficial truth. Buddha sees its essence, and all beings only see its superficial phenomenon. For example, when ordinary people see a table, they will not say whether it is empty, but what material it is, whether the colors match, whether the shape is appropriate, and so on. But the Buddha doesn't care what it is made of or what it does, but what its essence is. When the watch has not yet entered the factory, it has no concept of a watch; At the factory, the table was shaped after careful construction by technicians, but the table at that time was just a product; In shopping malls, it is a commodity; When someone pays for it, it becomes a daily necessity. Different names depend on different places, so there is no absolute table.

But no matter how many different values there are, there are only two, one is to see the world through self, and the other is to see the world through self. If you look at snow-capped mountains with amber glasses, they are naturally amber. But in fact, it is not the snow-capped mountains that turn into amber, but amber glasses that make you mistake amber; If you take it off and look directly at it, it will naturally be white. The second way mainly refers to two kinds of insights, namely, no-self insight and self-insight. Because different opinions have different views on the world, everything, life and life, we have created two different roads, which we call the second road.

Two positive results?

Two positive results are two results, and they are the results of two ways. Self-nature creates all beings, and all beings achieve reincarnation; The ego created the Buddha, and the Buddha reached a state of nirvana and silence. Samsara is the result of self-nature and troubles, and it is also a work of art created by all living beings through the troubles of the five poisons. The reason why samsara has all kinds of ups and downs is that all beings have different opinions and their troubles and emotions are different. The "crowd" of all beings consists of three words, meaning many people. Then there are many buddhas, such as III Buddha, Five Dhyani Buddhas Buddha and Shifang Buddha. Why not call them sentient beings? Because no matter how many Buddhas there are, his values are the same, and they all belong to the ego. And every sentient being has different values, outlook on life and outlook on life, so it is called sentient beings. We know that every sentient being has different life background, cultural background and growth background, and their values are naturally different, but they all belong to themselves and cannot do without themselves. This is their common insight. Because all sentient beings believe that "I" exists, that is, they have a sense of identity with themselves.

The ego creates six fundamental troubles, such as arrogance, jealousy, infatuation, hatred, prejudice and greed. These six different emotions are the products of self-persistence and ignorance. Six basic worries create six major parts of the wheel of karma and form six different species. The living habits, beliefs and values of these species are very different, and even their body shapes and reproductive organs are different, so they are called all beings in the six divisions in the wheel of karma. If you put the rope in a dark place, some people will mistake it for a snake, which will lead to a series of ridiculous measures such as fear and prevention. Similarly, the origin of samsara is ignorance, that is, not knowing the truth, and misunderstanding leads to samsara. Nirvana is to stay away from reincarnation and end it. The root of nirvana lies in non-ego, which is an understanding, a release and a breakthrough. Two positive results are actually reincarnation nirvana, or Buddha and all beings. There is no difference between Buddha and sentient beings, nirvana and reincarnation, worry and wisdom in our nature, but because of our ego and non-ego, reincarnation and nirvana, we have created Buddha and sentient beings.

Our nature is quiet and natural, without any pollution, and pure. It is not created by Buddha or God, nor is it caused by all beings, nor is it the technical talent of architects, but our nature. If you recognize it, you are the Buddha. I don't know, it is all beings, resulting in ignorance. The same is true of the three Taoist priests. They are fundamental and basic, but they are polluted. Tao is to stay away from pollution and wash away self-pollution; Fruit is the result of Tao. Nature and pollution are like dirt on clothes, dirt is dirt, and clothes are clothes. What we need to wash is not clothes, but the dirt on them. Therefore, the pollution on the base is not basic, but temporary and can be removed; It is precisely because it can be eliminated that it is necessary to cultivate monasteries and eliminate them through Tao; Completely eliminate all pollution and show the true colors of nature, which is the right result. Therefore, the Mother's Continuation Sutra says that "there is a foundation in the continuation, so it is the cause of becoming a Buddha." There is a reason to become a Buddha, so you can practice Buddhism; Only through practice can you become a Buddha. "
