Jiajiang is the porcelain capital of western China, the land of abundance, and the north gate of Leshan City.
Jiajiang covers an area of 748.47 square kilometers, and its terrain inclines from northwest to southeast. It has both dams, hills and mountains, and governs 22 towns with a population of 350,000. The territory has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, fertile land and rich products, especially the output of ceramic walls and tiles ranks first in the western provinces, and is known as the "western porcelain capital".
Jiajiang has a long history and culture. Summer is the land of Liangzhou, and Han is the land of Bashu. Sui County was established in 13 (AD 593), which was named after the natural victory of "two mountains facing each other, and one river flows northward".
Jiajiang has convenient transportation and unique location advantages. It is adjacent to Emei Mountain in the west, Leshan Giant Buddha in the south and Susan's hometown in Meishan in the north, only 126 km away from Chengdu, the provincial capital. The throat of chengdu-kunming railway, the fortress of Le Cheng Expressway and the convenience of Qingyi River waterway are important transportation hubs and material distribution centers in Leshan. In the implementation of the strategy of developing the western region, the Leshan Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government have identified Jiajiang County, Leshan Central District and Emei Mountain as the "Golden Triangle" areas with rapid economic development in the city.
