Step 1: Select the visa type.
Visa type:
Business/tourist visa (B 1/B2)
Student visa (female, male)
Exchange Visiting Scholar Visa (J)
Step 2: Complete the online DS- 160 application form.
Please fill in the online non-immigrant visa application form DS- 160 and print out the "Confirmation Page" with barcode.
Note: If your online application form DS- 160 does not provide complete and correct information, the Embassy will not consider this application. You will be asked to update or modify your DS- 160 form before returning to the embassy to complete the application procedure.
Step 3: register through the appointment center, pay the application fee and make an appointment for your interview.
There are two ways to book an interview; You can use the online reservation system or call the operator of the reservation center to make an appointment. There is no extra charge for these two services.
Step 4: Interview at the visa location you choose (not all applicants need to come for an interview).
According to your scheduled interview time, please don't queue up at the embassy more than 30 minutes in advance. Food, pistols, weapons or any liquid, including drinks, hand sanitizers and antibacterial glue, are not allowed to enter the embassy. All electronic devices are also banned, including mobile phones, photography, cameras, radios and computers. There is no storage place here, so if you bring the above items, you will be refused entry by the embassy and need to make a new appointment for an interview.
Step 5: Get your passport and visa at the CITIC Bank of your choice (if approved).
