Positive Discipline in Reading —— Reflections on Classroom Management Tools

We are always encouraging or undermining the confidence of people around us, thus greatly enhancing or weakening their ability to perform normally.

? Rudolph Drex

Today, I began to read positive discipline, which is very necessary for the classroom management tools in Chapter 8. After reading it, I found out why I didn't read this book earlier, which solved some problems I am struggling with now.

? Classroom management tools include 1 1 aspects:

1. The selection is limited.

2. Class affairs.

Just do it, don't say it.

4. Heuristic questions.

5. The problem of transfer behavior.

6. Doing nothing (natural consequences).

7. decide what to do by yourself.

8. Say "no" respectfully.

9. Treat every student equally.

10. Active suspension.

1 1. Step by step.

This 1 1 aspect is quite suitable for class management. Among these 1 1 aspects, what I need most now are the first, the third, the seventh, the eighth and the ninth, that is, "limited choice", "just do, don't say" and "decide what to do by yourself".

? The following is my experience:

? 1. Giving children some limited choices is what I am doing now. When the child is unreasonable, for example, you can say, don't do this again now, or I'll call your mother and tell her what you are doing now and let him choose one. Many children will choose the one who punishes him lightly.

2. I am the kind of person who is easy to chatter, that is, I always have something to say, so in the teaching process, if some children make mistakes or have problems, I will always say it there. I think only by making things clear to children can they understand, but the effect is not so good. After reading this book today, I found that many times doing nothing is a good way to deal with problems or mistakes.

? If the child makes a mistake, treat every student equally, the purpose is to solve the problem, not to criticize or praise anyone.

4. Give the decision of one thing to the child, let the child decide how to deal with it, and let the child take responsibility with the result of his own handling. In fact, whenever the teacher asks the children to do this and that, the children will always complain that the teacher is unfair to me, or why he can do this and I can't, so many times, some children can solve problems by themselves, and let them solve them as much as possible. In fact, there has always been such a problem in my class, that is, children want to sit in a good position and sit in the position closest to the teacher. No one wants anyone, and everyone wants the teacher to arrange a good position for him. If the child can't get the position he wants, then the child will take all his anger out on the teacher and complain that the teacher didn't choose a good position for him, so the position selection of our class is decided by drawing lots. The right to change at one time can only be changed after both parties agree. This way is to let children choose for themselves. When they draw lots, I will also tell them that you are responsible for your decision. No one knows which table you will sit at. When you choose it, you are responsible for it.

? The respectful "no" in the book also won my heart. In class, my children always make some demands on me. However, at this time, you don't have to pick up the child, just say no to the child and the child will ask why. You just need to reply, don't you think?

6. Of all the aspects I need, one step at a time is the most important. So many methods, applied to the teaching process, are actually a slap in the face and a fat man. Not everything can be implemented, so one step at a time, one progress at a time, is the best time to reflect the methods and results.

To sum up, the book has its own golden house, and the book has its own Yan Ruyu. Books on how to manage children are really what I need to read now, so I will learn more from them in the future, and I will implement them in my teaching plan as soon as possible.
