What etiquette should I pay attention to when I go to the temple to burn incense?

Buddhism, as the mainstream religion in China, many people burn incense on the 15th day of the first lunar month, but few people really know how to burn incense. Although some people know that there are many rules for burning incense, they always take "sincerity is the spirit" as an excuse, thinking that as long as they are sincere, they don't have to stick to etiquette. However, if you are unwilling to observe even the most basic etiquette in front of Buddha and Bodhisattva, how can you talk about "sincerity"? Today, I will introduce the etiquette that should be paid attention to when burning incense. I hope you learn more and don't lose your manners in front of Buddha and Bodhisattva.

Precautions before going to the temple

1, don't eat irritating food such as meat and spicy food before going to the temple. It's disrespectful to talk to others, let alone to face buddhas and bodhisattvas.

2. Take a bath before entering the temple, or at least wash your hands, especially after going to the toilet.

3. Female pilgrims try not to enter the temple during the special period of each month.

4. Female pilgrims should pay attention to dress when they enter the temple. It is advisable to be simple and generous, and don't dress too exposed. This is a big disrespect for Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
