Brief introduction of the temple in Putian South Shaolin Temple site

Putian South Shaolin Temple has a history of thousands of years. It is a precious cultural heritage of China Zen and the birthplace of Shaolin Nanquan. It is said that after the Shaolin Temple 13 monks in Songshan, Henan Province helped Emperor Taizong to unify China, Emperor Taizong gave him the title of "monk soldier" and allowed to establish 10 sub-temples all over the country. According to research, Linquanyuan, located in Jiulian Mountain in Licheng District, is one of the earliest sub-temples in Shaolin Temple 10. Because of its large scale (covering an area of about 30,000 square meters), its martial arts are at its peak, affecting South China, so it is also called South Shaolin Temple. The temple was burned by Qing soldiers in the early Qing Dynasty, but its rich martial arts were widely circulated among the people. In Hequan Putian, Luohan Boxing, Meihua Boxing and Hongquan are all famous. South Shaolin Wushu has been listed in the provincial intangible cultural heritage list.
