Laojun Cave is located in Laojun Mountain, about 2 kilometers east of Shangxin Street in Nan 'an District. It is one of the scenic spots in Nanshan Scenic Area.
Laojun Cave was built in the Tang Dynasty, formerly known as Guanghua Temple, and it is a Buddhist temple. In the ninth year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (158 1), it was changed into a Taoist temple, becoming the first Taoist temple in eastern Sichuan. During Daoguang, Tongzhi and Guangxu years in Qing Dynasty, it was renovated and expanded several times.
The whole Taoist temple is built on the mountain, with statues carved on the wall. Starting from the mountain gate, it is arranged layer by layer along steep cliffs and steep walls, and spirals up to the top of the mountain. There are 13 halls in the view, including Sanqing Hall, Zhenwu Hall, Lingzu Hall, Sanfeng Hall, Doumu Hall, Wuwen Hall, Qixing Hall, Lvzu Hall, Cihang Hall, Jade Emperor Hall and God of Wealth Temple. Most of these temples imitate the style of Chinese gardens, such as hanging mountains and fighting with cornices.
Among the Buddhist story images of numerous cliff stone carvings in Laojundong Taoist Temple, two stone reliefs, Jiulong Monument and Banan Rock, have the most artistic value.
