Why did Chiang Mai Temple bring a white rope to pray?

This is not only for praying in Chiang Mai temples, but also in many temples in Thailand.

It has two functions,

1) Master's blessing to you

2) If the master tells you that you were wearing a white rope at that time, after 7/9 days, you need to take it off and throw it into the sea/lake to help you get rid of bad luck.
