The xx Golden Autumn Debate Competition for College Students has ended, but there are many things that we must think about. Below, I will summarize it from five aspects:
First, the debater is not familiar with the rules of the game. There are two reasons: first, we issued a notice a little late, which led some departments to choose debaters too hastily and failed to achieve the effect of selecting talents; Second, some debaters themselves did not take the initiative to learn the rules of the game and were not fully prepared. In view of the above situation, we hold a debater meeting half an hour before each competition, emphasizing the debate style and competition rules. Such problems gradually weakened in the late stage of the game.
Second, there are some problems in the organization and deployment of personnel. Before the game started, our division of labor was very clear, and the responsibility was assigned to people. Each working group is carried out by two sophomores and a group of freshmen, with freshmen as the leading group, and sophomores mainly play the role of guidance and supervision. In real work, some sophomores fail to perform their respective duties, which leads to freshmen being at a loss. In view of this unexpected situation, we appointed Hu Hui as the general manager on the spot to conduct personnel deployment and guidance. Later, we boldly appointed a group of freshmen to take charge of their respective working groups. The effect is good, basically there is no big problem.
Third, there are the problems of the identity of the host and the identity of the judges. In the second round of the preliminary round, there appeared a series of questionable problems, such as the host is both the debater and the head of the supervision department, and invited the judges in his own name. Secondly, the debater is also a judge, commenting on a series of questions. In view of the above problems, we have taken evasive measures. Participants are not allowed to have other identities. If there are players from other departments, the relevant staff should avoid them.
Fourth, a series of details in the work. Although a targeted staff meeting is held before each competition to emphasize relevant precautions, there are still some details. First, the staff responsible for welcoming and evacuating at the entrance of the venue will speak a little; Second, the logistics staff did not pour tea for the judges in time; Third, the timekeepers have the problem of inconsistent prompt sounds; Fourth, the venue layout personnel did not install details such as background three-dimensional figures. After finding the problem, we immediately held a staff meeting to criticize and correct it. There was no similar problem in the later period.
Fifth, there are several innovations in this debate. First, in view of the short time of exciting and intense free debate, we increased the time of free debate from eight minutes to ten minutes, and reduced the concluding statement stage from eight minutes to six minutes; Second, the timing method is changed from the undisclosed mobile phone timing with human error to the projected computer timing, which truly achieves openness and zero error. Thirdly, in the course of the competition, the oath-taking link of timekeepers, judges and representatives of regulatory authorities was added, emphasizing the principles of fairness, justice and openness of the competition; Fourth, the leaders of the colleges are invited to present awards, the teachers are judges, and the fraternal associations of the three colleges are judges, which can be described as a strong lineup. Fifth, the venue has changed from a small classroom that can only accommodate 100 people in the past to a library conference center that can accommodate more than 500 people now, which can be described as a grand scale.

This debate contest is open to all freshmen and sophomores in the School of Information Technology. Each class forms a team to participate in the competition in the college through internal selection. The content of this contest is quite extensive, involving animation, TV marriage, love and so on. On the one hand, the diversity of debate gives students room to think. On the other hand, the debate is closely related to the needs of the times and has a strong sense of the times. This makes the whole debate scene appear splendid, vivid and beautiful, and it can arouse people's thinking after the game, giving people an intriguing meaning and depth. It can be said that the accurate setting of the debate topic has laid a good foundation for the success of this debate. However, the extensive content and strong sense of the times also require debaters to have profound knowledge accumulation and extensive social contacts from another side. During the debate, the debaters paid great attention to the instrument language and did not attack the opponent personally.
