Player registration
Before the start of the World Cup, national football teams need to sign up for the competition. This process usually begins two years before the World Cup, and the football team needs to submit an application to FIFA to qualify. FIFA will review the application, and the football team that has passed the examination can officially participate in the competition.
Group draw
After the registration, FIFA will draw lots for the 32 participating football teams. When drawing lots, FIFA will divide 32 teams into 8 groups according to the strength and ranking of national football teams, and each group contains 4 teams. The result of the group draw will determine the competition relationship between each team.
group match
After the group draw, the World Cup officially began. The first is the group match, in which four teams in each group play round robin, and each team needs to play against the other three teams. After the group stage, the top two in each group will advance to the knockout stage.
elimination game
The knockout stage is the most intense competition stage in the World Cup. In the knockout stage, each team plays a single game, and the loser will be eliminated, and the winner will advance to the next round. The knockout stage, including 16, the top 8, the top 4, the semi-finals and the finals, will finally decide the World Cup champion.
