The contest was hosted by the Provincial Sports Bureau and the Provincial Department of Education, and was undertaken by the Basketball and Volleyball Management Center of the Provincial Sports Bureau, the Municipal Sports Bureau and the Municipal Education Bureau. The competition is divided into three stages: preliminaries, semi-finals and finals. The preliminaries are divided into four groups for round robin, with the first place in each group participating in the finals, and the second place in each group drawing lots to decide the third place in the rematch. The winners of the four teams participate in the final, and the losers of the four teams are eliminated to decide 9- 12. In the preliminaries, the fourth place in the group was drawn for round robin, and it was decided 13- 16. In the final stage, the first four teams in each group will draw lots for a game in two groups to reserve seats, and then play four games with the two teams in the rematch (also draw lots for ranking). The winner decides the top four by elimination system, and the loser decides 5-8 by elimination system. This new way of competition makes the competition more intense. On June 5438+1October 65438+May, 2022, FIVB officially announced that, with the approval of the FIVB Executive Committee, from the next World Championships, the participation scale of men's and women's volleyball world championships will be expanded from the current 24 teams to 32 teams, and the competition system will be adjusted accordingly. Thirty-two teams were divided into eight groups in the first stage of the group stage, and four teams in each group made a single cycle within the group, and the top two teams in each group were promoted to 16. After 16, the competition system will be simplified to elimination system until the champion is decided.
