Brief introduction of Yaomiao scenic spot

Yao Temple, located in Yaodu District, Linfen City, Shanxi Province, is the oldest historical and cultural relic in China and is known as the "cradle of China's history and culture".

Yao Temple, a scenic spot in Linfen City, Shanxi Province, is located at the southern end of Qinshu Road in Linfen City, Shanxi Province, and is a key cultural relic protection unit in Shanxi Province. Yao Temple was originally built on the west bank of Fenhe River, and moved to Fendong in Jin and Yuan Dynasties, and moved to this site in the third year of Tang Xianqing (685), which has been more than 1300 years.

All previous dynasties were national places of worship, which were repaired and expanded many times. Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Guangxu and Empress Dowager Cixi all visited here. Yao Temple now covers an area of 5.33 hectares, mainly including ancient buildings such as Shanmen, Wufenglou, Pavilion, Guang Yun Hall and Bedroom, as well as landscapes such as Baibaohuai, Baibaozi, Minglubai and Xiaoyebai, which are rare trees in the Han Dynasty over 1.600 years ago.

Before the Qing Dynasty, a ceremony of offering sacrifices to Yao and a temple fair were held here on April 28th every year. When Emperor Kangxi visited Yao Temple, it was designated as the Emperor's Meeting. At that time, China people from all provinces, ethnic groups and overseas came to pay homage, and the temple fair was the best in North China. Emperors and generals in past dynasties reached the status of litigious dignitaries and poets, and chanted a lot about Yao Temple.
