Origin:
Yuxi Rice Noodle Festival is a traditional festival for emerging people. It has a long history, with a history of hundreds of years. According to legend, the ancient Yuxi dam was full of disasters, with heavy rains and flash floods, farmers' crops flooded and houses collapsed. In the dry season, crops are sunburned like water. People's lives are very poor, so many people have to worship Buddha and burn incense, kowtow to God, and may God bless them, with good weather, peace and happiness, but the good days have never come.
Later, two "saints" appeared, one named Tu and the other named Chen (later called Tuzhu). They are wise and virtuous, leaving their parents and wives behind, leading the villagers, planting trees and conserving soil, and building canals to divert water. After several years of operation, they have ensured that farmers' crops grow satisfactorily.
Since then, people and animals in Yuxi Bazi have prospered and the people have lived a good life. However, Chen and Tu, who worked day and night, died prematurely. After the death of Chen and Tu, many people donated money and rice in their hometown to repay their kindness, made their statues with clay and left them in the world forever.
