Ryu Seung-min began to learn to play table tennis at the age of 9, with his right hand holding the racket straight. This is a traditional Korean backhand and unilateral pull, with strong forehand, wide lines and powerful rotation. Although Ryu Seung-min can't compare with Jin Chuzhu in footwork, his excellent physical strength can meet the needs of playing. Ryu Seung-min's forehand half-lob is very good. After crossing the net, he "dived" badly, and practiced a straight-line reverse run, which enhanced the overall threat of playing. In the stalemate, Ryu Seung-min often relies on a powerful forehand curveball to break through the opponent's defense. After being transferred from forehand to backhand board, backhand attack is excellent, powerful and sudden. In the middle defense, Ryu Seung-min can use backhand "pocket" against opponents and wait for an opportunity to pull back sideways.
In 200 1 year, Ryu Seung-min defeated Kim Cui-soo and Sang Eun Oh in the Korean table tennis championship and won the team, doubles and singles titles. At the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, he and Chul-Seung Lee won the men's doubles championship with their excellent running position and fierce forehand attack. In the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, Ryu Seung-min defeated Waldner, who had recovered, in the semi-final, and defeated Wang Hao of China in the final, winning the men's singles gold medal in the Olympic Games for Korea again, which also dashed the hope of China table tennis team winning four gold medals in the Olympic Games.
