On the evening of May 8, the launching ceremony of the 2023 Shanghai Masters was held in Shanghai. The tournament will be held in Zhong Qi Tennis Center of Jiushi Stadium from June 2nd to June 5th this year.
Shanghai Rolex Masters won the honor of "Best ATP 1000 Event of the Year" for five consecutive years. ATP 1000 Shanghai Station is one of the nine ATP stations in the world, and it is also the only ATP event site with the highest level of 1000 in the Asia-Pacific region.
At the ceremony, Masim Calvelli, CEO of ATP, who made a special trip from London, shared the "ONE VISION" strategic plan officially implemented by ATP in the world since 2023-upgrading the five masters including Shanghai to "Super Masters" twice, and expanding the number of singles to 96. The Shanghai Rolex Masters was the first site to be upgraded.
Activities to prepare
On the evening of May 8, 2023, the launching ceremony of the 2023 Shanghai Rolex Masters was held in the World Conference Hall on the Huangpu River. The event was upgraded to 14-day Super Masters (including 2-day qualifiers), and the singles signing table was expanded to 96 people.

Venue
Zhong Qi Tennis Center is located in maqiao town, Minhang District, southwest of Shanghai, covering an area of about 508 mu with a total construction area of 85,438 square meters. The main stadium has a building area of 30,649 square meters, four floors above ground and a building height of about 40 meters. It has a steel roof, which resembles the flowering process of Magnolia grandiflora in Shanghai and is the first in the world.
In addition to the general audience, the main stadium also has VIP seats, press seats (about 240 seats, 60 of which have workstations) and 20-30 seats for the disabled. The main stadium also has 26 air boxes, more than 20 broadcast rooms, 2 large screens with a height of 4m and a width of 10m, and a number of other auxiliary rooms, such as VIP rooms, athletes' lounges, meeting rooms, changing rooms, restaurants, information processing centers and press release halls.
