The first player selected in the draft is usually called the "No.1 scholar" (No.1 scholar), and they are usually the best among all the players participating in the draft. The second player selected is called "No.2" and the third player is called "Flower Exploration". Then it is called the first order in turn.
Just because a player is selected in the first round doesn't mean that he will become a superstar in the future. Michael Jordan was selected as the third overall pick in the first round of 1984 draft, but he is generally regarded as the greatest player in NBA history.
Extended data:
Draft meeting
After the finals, the NBA will hold a draft meeting, and representatives of 30 teams, NBA officials and candidates will all be present.
* * * There will be two rounds of draft. The order of the first round of draft is: the top draft, the second draft, the flower-exploring draft and the team whose record is from bad to good in the regular season. The order of the second round draft is arranged in reverse order according to the regular season record.
The top draft team is selected from all the players participating in the draft. The players selected by this team are the "top leaders". They are usually the best of all players or the most needed by the team.
Then the "second place" team will choose among the remaining players. It can be seen that there will be fewer players to choose from in the future, and there will usually be fewer excellent players.
When a player is selected in the first draft, the team that selected him must sign with him for at least four years (3+ 1 or 2+2), while the team that selected the player in the second round can "own" the player for three years, but the team does not have to sign with them. If a player signs a contract with his agent, he will automatically end his college studies.
If the rookie is abandoned, he will become a free agent (unrestricted). After the team signed a contract with the rookie, they could not trade him for 60 days.
