1, second division of China Football Association.
China Football Association League B is a domestic third-class football league, which is participated by domestic football clubs. The full English name is: Chinese Football Association League B, referred to as C2L. Its predecessor was 1956, the National Football League II, and in 2004 it was reorganized into the China Football Association League II.
The League B started in 2004. As the third professional football league in China, the promotion and demotion system is implemented. Before the finals, the two players advanced to the Chinese Football League A, and the last two players and the fifth and sixth players in the finals of the National Amateur Football League (commonly known as the Football League III) participated in the upgrade play-offs. The winner participated in the Chinese Football League B the following year.
2. Competition system
At the beginning of the second division (intermittently), there are two stages: the initial stage and the final stage. The preliminary round is divided into several divisions (called groups in the early stage), but the number of qualifying teams is uncertain. The final stage is divided into group stage and final stage, both of which adopt round robin system. 1965 suspended the second competition, 1978 resumed the second competition, and adopted two-stage competition, namely two-stage competition and final competition, and only started the second competition (including the second competition and the third competition) at 1983 and 1984. Except for 1992, which is divided into two groups, it is divided into four divisions and four cities to hold tournaments. The number of qualifying teams in each division is uncertain, so the number of teams in the final stage is also uncertain. It is uncertain whether the tournament system, elimination system or round robin system will be adopted in the final stage.
After the professionalization of 1994, the semi-finals adopted two stages: preliminary and final. 1995 changed to three stages: preliminary, semi-final and final. The preliminary stage is the provincial and municipal trials, and the winner enters the regional semi-finals; At the beginning of the rematch stage, it was divided into five divisions, and 1997 was changed to four divisions. The rematch is a double round-robin competition between home and away, and the top three divisions enter the final stage; The final stage adopts the tournament system, which is divided into the first stage group stage and the second stage elimination stage (only 1995 is a round robin). The group stage is divided into three groups. The top two teams and the second team advance to two rounds of elimination in each round, and the last one is the winner (1995 is round robin). Generally, there are no three or four finals.
1999 is divided into two stages for the second time, and the preliminary stage is cancelled. The first stage is the group match. The three groups play home and away games respectively, and the top four in the group enter the final stage. The competition system will remain unchanged in the final stage. The year 2000 is divided into three stages again. The first stage is the regional preliminaries, and the top three players advance to the second stage by using the home and away double round robin system. The second stage is the semi-finals of the North-South Division, and six teams from each division qualify. Opponents who met in the first stage will not meet again. The results of the first stage will be brought into the semi-finals, and four teams from each division will enter the final of the third stage. In the final stage of the third stage, the championship system will be implemented, and two rounds of elimination will still be implemented in each round except the final.
After the reorganization of League B in 2004, the first stage of the home and away double round robin system and the second stage of the finals were implemented. At first, the top four in the North-South Division qualified for the finals. In 2007, the champion and runner-up of China University Football League were also allowed to participate in the finals, and then the champion of the division directly advanced to the semi-finals. The other six teams will compete with the champion and runner-up of the college football league for two semi-finals through the elimination system. 20 10 due to the small number of participating teams, the first-stage regionals adopted the home and away four-round competition system, and the college students were no longer allowed to participate in the finals. The champion of the division directly entered the semi-finals, and the second and third place competed for the qualification to enter the semi-finals.
