Teachers in Yixing Foreign Language School

1. School-based training is sure. There are more than 250 teachers in foreign language schools, of which about one third are academic leaders, teaching experts and teaching rookies, and more than 80% of the teachers have won awards at or above the municipal level. In order to prevent teachers from being lazy and unwilling to make progress after success, and at the same time integrate teachers' individual advantages, the school has formulated the Implementation Opinions of Yixing Foreign Language School on Teachers' Development Goals, and set up a research topic of "Participatory Education (Learning)", which takes the research practice of the topic as the carrier and the evaluation of "five types of teachers" (teaching rookies, teaching experts, characteristic teachers, subject leaders and academic teachers) as the starting point to promote famous teachers.

2. There is a platform for teacher development. Foreign language schools build various platforms for the development of teachers in the whole school. Seminar for key teachers will be held in summer, forum for young teachers will be organized at the beginning of the year, and young and middle-aged key teachers will be recommended to go out to study. Every semester, activities such as "Demonstration Week of Classroom Teaching for Academic Leaders", "Report Class for Young Teachers" and "Teaching and Research Classes in Different Classes" will be held to promote the continuous progress of all kinds of teachers. Through various activities, teachers are provided with opportunities to show their talents and build a platform for growth.

3. Teachers' activities should be implemented. In foreign language schools, teachers have the tasks of teaching, research and study in summer vacation and winter vacation. In the preview class of each semester, all the leaders and teachers gather in the lecture hall to draw lots to exchange their experiences in studying during the holidays, score on the spot and reward them on the spot. This kind of "participatory forum" is held twice a year. Focusing on the main topic "participatory teaching", I talk about my own teaching practice and learning experience, so that my holiday study can be implemented and achieved fruitful results. Since 2005, the school has established an online course evaluation platform, which stipulates that before preparing lessons collectively, the texts and courseware of the main and standby teachers will be published online, so that each teacher can learn from them and put forward suggestions for revision. In open classes, teachers and students' classroom activity plans must be published online in advance. After class, everyone can freely talk about their views through the internet, which not only gives full play to the advantages of the online platform, such as speed, enjoyment and freedom, but also injects vitality into teachers' action research.

4. Teacher evaluation promotes development. In order to standardize teachers' teaching behavior, foreign language schools have formulated various detailed rules for teachers' assessment, and adopted comprehensive evaluation models such as peer assessment, student assessment, parent assessment and leadership assessment, which make the assessment more fair and just. According to the assessment, the school will award "Excellent Lesson Preparation Award", "Excellent Class Evaluation Award", "Teaching Quality Award" and "Scientific Research Achievement Award" every semester. In addition, the school will award "advanced individual for teacher development" to encourage and promote teachers' professional development.

5. Teacher recruitment is real. In terms of teacher recruitment, foreign language schools really implement employment system, extension system and dismissal system. Before August 10 every year, the school will hire a grade director who will hire a teacher. Teachers who have made little progress are delayed, dismissed and replaced, which urges teachers to constantly develop themselves, renew themselves and surpass themselves, and promotes the professional development of teachers.
